Refunds on SW

Following on another thread where a refund was mentioned, I was wondering if any one here has asked for a refund or know of anyone getting a refund by SW because of the plan not working.
I have been a member of SW, on and off, for nearly 7 years. I have joined and left a few times and joined three different groups in that period.
I, personally, have never heard of it, and I must have met a couple of hundred members in that time, including several target members.
Everyone I have met has lost weight, maybe not in the first week but certainly in the weeks to come.
There have been a few members who admitted that they found it hard, as they were not prepared to make any form of adjustments to their unhealthy eating habits and left as SW was not the miracle quick weight loss plan they thought it would be. Even two of those came back to give it another go.
On the whole, I have never met a single person who claim they stuck to SW for any length of time and found it does not work.
Does anyone know of any real SW failure cases?

The only people i know who it doesn't work for straight off is those who have moved from a VLCD e.g. Lighter life, Cambridge etc and haven't done the maintenance/refeed phases!

My stats don't look good. Thought might claim, but spent 3 days off plan this week so probably blown being able to now. To be fair, not sure if it's the plan, or the remnants of depo that's causing the most problems. But I do keep asking myself how I can lose weight eating more cals than I did to put it on! But having said that, it did work for me when I last tried 15 years ago. Really can't stand the thought of counting points so will keep trying.

I am sorry that you are having a blip, Lynda.
Just stick with it, and I am certain you will win in the end.
It really does work, as you know, though maybe not as fast as one would like, but with the great eating plans who is complaining?
Yes, I don't think you can get a refund if you don't stick to the plan 100%, so just carry on, I am sure that you will win in the end.
Good luck!

Must say I don't know of anyone who has had a refund. I do know of one or two people who did put on, or not lose but that has been because they haven't really been following plan, e.g. not counting the butter in the chip butties. As far as I know though they didn't ask for refunds.

yes you can get your money back after 4 weeks if you have stuck to it 100% and filled out food diarys and not lost any weight.
its in the choose success booklet that comes in your pack, back page number 5
in the older books before the upside down ones its in the back of your handbook.

when i first joined slimming world a long time ago i was offered this as after 4 weeks i was heavier than when i started but didnt accept it as it was my fault and kept getting it wrong then eating anything it took a long time to understand it

There is probably no situation where they would ever allow a refund due to the plan not working. Unless someone could categorically prove that they stuck to the plan 100% (which is obviously impossible, your consultant cannot follow you round 24/7 to see exactly what you eat haha), then there is no way you could get a refund surely! Interesting thought though, wondering if anyone has tried it haha

xx

Oh i just saw the above post! Well the 4 week thing sounds fair, but I still dont see how giving in a food diary is proof, you could have eaten other stuff and just not written it down!

If it's 4 weeks, I should claim, because I did stick to it 100% for 4 weeks. It was last week, the 5th that I didn't, and haven't weighed this week yet. Dreading that.

Have you handed your food diaries in each week when you've gone to class? It might be that you think you've stuck to it 100%, but there's something in there that's wrong.

Also, if you had handed in your diaries each week, your consultant should have spoken to you after 2 or 3 weeks to see if you maybe need to change what kind of day you're doing, etc etc.

Speak to your consultant about this - it's important they know how you feel.

Some people may stick to it 100% and it not work for them as some people will react differently to different foods, e.g. eating too many potatoes may cause some to put on, some to lose more. But this is where the consultant comes in, they would examine the food diaries and suggest things the person could change. If they still dont have any losses then I think thats when the refund would be helpful.

If you go there with false food diaries and lies to the consultant, the only person that would be put out is the person getting the refund. No point in starting the plan if all they are going to ust aim to get a refund.

Anyway, im babbling................I just want to add SW DOES WORK FOR ME AND I LOVE IT!!!!!! No refunds sought after from me :) :) :)

Yes...my MIL had a refund.
She stuck to plan 100% for 10 weeks and didnt loose a thing. She is the most determined person I know and never ever cheats. She had all her diary pages for the Consultant, but nothing happened. After the refund, she was made a target member and has stayed the same weight for 5 years. The only time her weight fluctuates is when she has come off plan for a cruise.

What a determined MIL you have Mrs V.
Others would have given up before 10 weeks of sticking to plan.
It's good that SW gave her the refund and made her a target member. Anyone with so much determination is a real winner.
Perhaps her body was at the level it needs to be hence no weight loss. I can't answer why but guess there must be a reason.
It's also that she continues to go to WI so the only gains she has is when she goes away. Well done to your MIL!

I cant believe her either!!! Lol.....I would have given up well before then!! But she hung in there!
