Hello,iv just joined slimming world this week and cant bealive how different is is to any other diet iv done where iv practicly starved myself!! Iv been eating alot of eggs (as they are free one both choices and love the slimming world chips.Iv been trying to limit my syns to about 10 per day but yesterday i had the full 15 and i probably will end up having them all again today. So will it work? x

It certainly will. NO idea how it works but follow it properly and it DOES work :)

The others are right, If you follow it correctly, it will work. Fact!!

Just don't worry about it, don't try to understand it, just eat within the rules and you'll lose weight.

SW is fab!

Heya

I wondered that too when I first started on 16th September, and here I am 1 stone down, so yeap it does work!

I have a negative comment about SW, i was on it until last week since may. I was sticking to plan 100% and was gaining 5lbs a week. When i cheated on the plan i lost weight (and numerous people have said the same on my diary) but when i stuck to plan i gained. I spoke to my consultant about this and i was told to eat MORE food. I was already eating 3-3500cals a day she wanted me to eat 4-4500 cals a day, now no matter what diet name is put on the plan you are going to gain weight eating 3000+ calories a day. Id just say beware with SW the problem is at the end of a day it is a company and their goal is to make money, they tend to try and keep you fat so that they gain your money. Think about it if you get to goal weight you dont have to pay! They want to avoid that. There are plenty of other people that have said the same thing too.

This plan works!!! As the others have said..if you follow the plan 100%, there should be no reason why this would fail you.
One of my favourite meals on EE is just plain old bacon, egg, chips and beans...hmmmm!!!

Good luck with your journey Hun.

Yes SW is a company out to make money, like most of the diets these days, but Im sure they dont want to keep u fat, after all its been going 40 years, and thats not by keeping people fat. You only have to look at this forum to see how many people have lost a lot of weight doing it. Im sorry the diet didnt work for you, but Im guessing it doesnt suit every single person, like other diets wont suit everyone.
IMO this is the best diet...(actually wouldnt even call it a diet) its more a change of eating habits, that i have ever done, and I for one love it:D:D:D:D

I too thought the same r.e not calling it a diet as it does allow you to have ANY food just in the right amounts. I think maybe it was just a grudge my consultant had with me as i had lots of grief off her in the end that is why i quit but as long as you find a decent consultant who doesnt tell you to eat over 4000 cals a day then you should be ok. I know the plan tells you that you can eat as mcuh as you like but i wouldnt listen to that, i would just have your 3 meals and a few snacks because like i said before if you are over your recommended BMR of cals then you WILL gain weight nomatter what the plan is called

it most definitely works i have tried every diet going and always believed in this one, stick with it you will certainly have a weight loss, Kidd your self you are sticking to it (like i do sometimes) and it will be a lot slower. Good luck and enjoy it.

Like any diet it will work if you're motivated, flexible and willing to make changes to your lifestyle. After all it's our lifestyles that have made us overweight in the first place, and if you're not willing to make changes then it will stay that way. Eat a wide variety of foods and meals until you are full and not to excess. Yes foods are free but any food eaten to excess has the potential to add weight. And if you really want to know if it work then look at people's profiles and you'll get your answer.

I LOVE this diet. Well I enjoy eating the food. But look at my stats. It hasn't worked right well so far. I am gonna keep going in the hope that it work for me, like everyone else. I can't cope with counting points for the rest of my life!!

Slimming World does NOT want to keep you fat, that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Sorry hun, but most people have no trouble falling off a diet plan or sabotaging a weight loss programme themselves.

I don't understand how your consultant could see your food diary and from the amounts of food you say you were eating could possibly assume that you weren't eating enough and tell you to eat more.

I never calorie count on Slimming World, it's not good for the plan mentality. If you did what you were supposed to do, kept your food diaries and did what your consultant said, and GAINED weight, then they have a policy in place whereby you can get your money back. I hope you used it.

I did keep food diaries, and i sent them to the consultant and she rang me telling me to eat much more, my food diaries consisted of 3 meals, drinks and 3 snacks. you will see n my diary. And you will also see on another of my threads people agreeing saying the same happened to them

Yes, yes, yes it does work, it's a wonderful 'diet' - in fact you won't believe you are on a diet at all.

As the others have said follow it properly and you can't fail to lose weight, good luck to you. X

Squiddie's sticky post at the top of the forum covers this. It is very true - no one diet plan will work for everyone. There are always exceptions to each plan, & its just a case of finding out which one suits you best. Different mentalities, opinions, behaviours etc will influence your own weight loss. If the plan doesnt suit you personally, maybe you won't lose at the rate most do. However, it seems to suit more people than any other plan I've seen. Just look at the majority of people on this forum! Everyone I'm sure recognises that SW is a company with a profit to make, however, they are best served making that profit by having a phenomenal success rate to attract more slimmers to the plan rather than trying to "keep you fat!"

Six and a half stone down in just less than a year. It works.

The best thing about Food Optimising is the way it changes your *behaviour* and *attitude* to eating. This is where the most important change happens on this plan - in your head. This is why it works so much better for many people than traditional calorie/points counting.

If you allow it to do so, it will change your whole mentality, and that change will be reflected in your physical health and weight. It's brilliant.

Fallen Angel, I'm sorry but 3000+ calories a day of the types of things you're eating on SW is an enormous amount of food. Of course you gained. Your consultant should have been advising you properly on this, and if she didn't then you need to get in touch with SW headquarters and let them know. Send them your diaries, tell them the advice you were given, and ask for your class and joining fee back.

Good, so you can get your money back yes? So the theory about 'trying to keep you fat and get your money' doesn't hold true, as that's what I was offended by.
