If I decide to do ss without aam do I really need to see the dr?

Hi,

Iv done a couple of amm evenings in the past 6 weeks, but Im not good at it :(

A tiny piece of chicken and incy wincy salad is'nt enough for me and I always pile my plate up with loads and a good splodge of mayo :(

So Im thinking from now on do SS and no food at all until the end of the diet, which is around August time.

Do I really need to see the dr and why?

Thanks

Oooh, I would like to know this too..as AAM is going to be my downfall and I'd be quite happy to skip it altogether but not if it will affect my health in anyway.

In a nut shell, the reason you have to do AAM as EU guidelines state that every 5 weeks you must eat or be deemed fit to continue on with SS by a doctor and have the medical form to prove it.

It is for your health.

Plus, there are a million reasons to do AAM - it can boost losses and get things going a little faster, prevent constipation, plus portion control is something we all have to get a handle on. Its also really important mentally to do this part of the diet. So many people grow to think that if they eat, they will gain weight. AAM helps to show that you won't.....if you eat the right amounts.

There is no reason not to do it, apart from being stubborn or being scared. I feel neither of those reasons are sufficient enough. That said, I'm sure there are a few cases where missing AAM is needed, hence why the doctors form is there and the ability to skip if needed. I'd need a decent reason to let one of mine get a form signed.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but its part of the diet, you wouldn't not drink the water just cause you felt like it would you?

If you struggle with aam why not try just adding it to your soup. I do this every aam week because the small amount there is doesnt add up to a meal for me, however added in the soup its like a treat because your eating a chunky soup.

Maybe prepare it earlier in the day and put any excess away? If you do the chick with cauli/brocc etc, you could get out just what you need in the morning.

:D Nothing like being positive :D Remember...whether you think you can or think you can't...you're probably right.

If you struggle with aam why not try just adding it to your soup.

The perfect solution if you still have a way to go with the diet and feel you might fail during aam :)

I worried and stressed for weeks about AAM, put it off and moaned about having to do it but you know what? it was really no big deal. Yes you need to control your portions, no you cant have add-ons like mayonaise but you can do it and enjoy it. Its a great idea to add the chicken/prawns and some cabbage to a soup, it was lovely and very filling. Cant wait for my next aamw now.

Thanks ladies! I am looking forward to aam week really..I can't wait to chew something! :eat: I'm just afraid of over doing it and having to start from scratch...again! :angeldevil: I know, I know...Only I can control what and how much food goes into my mouth so I must be strong and positive about it...so thanks for putting me straight :whoopass: I'll probably measure my portions by using a small plate like a saucer perhaps? Is that enough? I've got 2 weeks till then and now I can't wait.....MMMMMMmmmmm quorn filllets. :drool:Yum!

You could really do with a set of food scales Bluepaws. You'll need them when you go up through the plans anyway, so it's worth investing in.

I do think that many people have a distorted perception of aam. It's tiny. It really is. Yes, it's 'real' food, but CD is that too. I think that often people build something huge out of it. They are either looking forward to it too much or dreading it.
