Hello,

I started on Thursday evening, so this is day 3 for me. It's been smooth sailing and surprisingly easy for me. I like the shakes, etc. and seem to be able to keep flooding the water down. I sincerely am thinking of buying stock in Andrex though!;)

Last night, I got home from work about midnight. When I came in the house smelled wonderful!!! My son, in his infinite wisdom, had decided to 'help me out' by eating up the food. However, he didn't eat the perishables, NO, he defrosted the 6 special Donald Russell steaks from the freezer, and cooked them up for himself and his mates!!!   The aroma was intoxicating. I could have killed him. I thought maybe this was an April Fool's joke. But no. Anyway, he thought better of it and took his mates out for a long walk with the dog. This left me home alone with this fabulous smell. Again, I could have killed him.

I don't know whether it was the smell or the anger (or both) but I had to eat something. And, of course, there was no steak left to scratch that particular 'itch'. :banghead: I had some lettuce with mustard on it, then some pate on a spoon, then some peanuts...but no carbs, as such. Then the anger helped me to stop! I had a litre of water and went to bed.

This morning, I made him clean the kitchen with lemons to get rid of the Texas smokehouse smell that I love. I had my breakfast shake, (and loved it, btw) and guess what? I am finally in ketosis! :wow: Only a trace, mind you, but definitely changed the stick. I am tempted to weigh, but am trying to wait (weight) until I see my counsellor. My clothes feel looser, but I am so curious. Reading about everyobdy's successes keeps me going.

I find the site so very helpful. I get encouraged each time I come on it. And the before and after shots are so motivating! Yoo hoo hoo, I wanna be like you-hoo-hoo...

Hi texasmorning,

Well done in getting into ketosis and for resisting eating, but nibbling is dangerous ground as the chatterbox will try and convince you that because you got away with it once you can again and perhaps you will but then what appears to be a slip can so easily turn into a land slide. I am talking from my own experience and all it does is delay the journey.

I think smell seems to be very heightened or so it does seem when your SSing.

Took me some time to get use to the taste of the shakes and to drink all that water, but you have taken to it right away..'like a duck to water':D :p

So true Mini, as you know I have made that exact mistake. I went from one crisp at the pub to a full on weekend of naughty eating  hun, resist the urge and you will find it so much easier, I lasted 5 weeks and then it all went wrong. Back on track today tho!

I am talking from my own experience and all it does is delay the journey.
And reaching target a fortnight earlier will feel so much better than giving in!

I agree totally- I think thats why I have found myself so tempted. Even a whiff of salt and vinegar crisps and I'm in serious trouble!

Dear Wannabslim,
Thanks for that. And well done for getting back on the wagon! I think that the fear of having to start again is one of the best deterrents to giving in.

I am going to pat myself on the back...I have been to the gym today!! :superwoman: They have this new thing called the Power Pad. What it does, is: shake you like an earthquake, and you perform exercises on it at the same time. I am going to use it each day. I think that it will help me to keep the skin from getting so loose. The idea is that it helps to stimulate the connective tissue - All through the body! Just makes sense that, if I go every day, it will help to tone up and strengthen the flabby bits. We shall see.

Great going Texasmorning, is that the vibration plate that you stand on....I have seen them and wondered if they do work and how well.
Cant wait to hear how much you have lost this week. Keep up the good work.

Yup, it's a vibration plate. Be careful not to break your teeth. (not really) but sometimes my glasses start to fall off. I don't know if it will make a difference, but the concept sounds good to me.
