Hi all

Another question for you - a friend of mine has had Post Natal Depression since the birth of her 2nd child 8 months ago. She is also down about her weight which she reckons isn't helping. She has seen how well I've done/am doing on Cambridge and wonders if she can do it

I remember seeing depression on the form as one of the items and was just wondering (for her) if she could do CD or does she need the ok from her GP

Thanks folks

Dee

Hi Dee,

It depends how severe the depression is and if on medication what medication it is.

PNT is a medical condition so GP should be involved.

I would definitely refer her to the GP for signature.

Thanks Linda - does not seem to be too severe - she is on Effexor for it ..

I will refer her to GP before she thinks about starting ... would he have to just sign a form or something. Would the medication effect the weight loss on CD or is it just to make sure it's all okay with GP?

Thanks

As a CDC you will need to do a letter to the GP, include and information for doctors booklet and a completed medical record form for him to sign.

All of this will be explained to you when you go for your training, so don't worry you will know exactly what you need to do:p

Thanks Linda .. lot to take in isn't there?? Just want to make sure I don't advise her wrong!! Looking forward to getting this training all sorted out, flight & hotel booked etc .. it's so much harder doing it from here rather than just hopping in the car/on the train in the UK ....
