The Bubblicious Months

Although i'm starting on Monday there's no time like the present to start the fitness blog!

So a bit of info behind 'Bubblicious' and why I joined Minimins!

I used to be fairly 'fit', not a weight i'd like but I went running, fell walking, horse riding, netball, all that lovely stuff. And then I got myself a full time sedentry job, in fact two full time sedentry jobs, one during the day as a cashier and one at night as a receptionist, inbetween I found myself eating the most awful food, sleeping and doing very little other than walking to work! Slowly but surely my weight crept up from 168lbs to 200lbs, and I never noticed until someone published some freshers photos from university where I could clearly be seen in the background dancing away.

I looked a mess, a watermelon with legs. It was the biggest boot up the backside you can imagine. No one likes to look at themselves and see someone they don't recognise, still wearing the clothes that suited them at a lower weight. Having tottered along to the doctors and had them recommend that I should aim for 130lbs with a "healthy diet and exercise routine" i've taken this to heart.

I'm aiming to go to the gym 6 times a week, 45 minute sessions each day. Although i'm still torn between using my university gym facilities [two stationary bikes, a treadmill and some weights] for the cheaper rates or going to the leisure centre and joining the fitness group. As I have no idea what i'm doing I think being able to have a fitness instructor who knows what they're doing and I wont have to face in the students union is a distinct advantage.

I'm also looking at slimming clubs, I have no willpower, I know this, if I go it alone i'll assume the more exercise I do the more I can eat, which is untrue! I'm eating too much as it is as i've gotten into that awful, awful habit of eating everything I see, so i'm assuming something like weightwatchers would be the best option!

And now i'm rambling. The aim is once I get back up to Cumbria to trundle to the gym, join, find the slimming club, and work on the student theory that alcohol is obligatory!

Good luck bubble,
You sound VERY motivated and positive.
I too am planning a fitness and healthy eating splurge this month and wish you well on your journey.
