Scrambled Egg

Afternoon ladies and gents :D

Does anyone ever make scrambled egg in the microwave? If so, how do you do it?

I want to give it a go instead of using the hob to save some time but ive never done it before :p

I do this all the time. I use a glass jug or bowl and cook it on high but I whisk it every 30 secs. It only takes maybe 90 secs and the last 30 secs I whisk it every ten seconds.
If you don't you just end up with a big jug of rubber rather than fluffy scrambled egg!

Great - thanks folks - i'll give it a go tomorrow.

This is great because i can now make scrambled egg and beans for lunch if i go back to work as we have a microwave. Awesome!!

You could add a spot of mik to it from your allowance if you wanted too.
I normally do as Jaylou and Wenders have suggested....just whisk and nuke.

I do it all the time too, I usually add a drop of cold water to the eggs and then beat them up and cook as Jaylou has explained above - a really quick and filling breakfast or lunch meal.....enjoy.

I can never get the pan clean though Sandy, always easier to clean the jug. I find it burns in the pan, I'm rubbish doing it on the hob!!

I adore scrambled eggs! Hate scraping them off everything tho!

Add a bit of quark to them too! Its lush!

Once you get a feel for the timings on your microwave you won't need to take it out to stir it so often.

I do two lightly beaten eggs in a mug with a splash of water, seasoning and a couple of drops of hot sauce. Blast on high power (800kW) for 1 minutes, stir, 30 secs, stir, 20 secs. Perfect!

One thing though, take it out of the microwave while it's still slightly too runny as it will continue cooking a bit after you take it out.

hey that is what I had today. gordon ramsey says if you add fromage frais at the very end it stops it over cooking and tastes even creamier yum x

For cleaning the pan if done on the hob I use scrunched up tin foil elbow grease and some washing up liquid applied directly. I was taught this by the scouts and it cleans up even using cold water at camp!

Well, thanks for the advice everyone! I've just had some microwaved scrambled egg and they were spot on! Quick and easy to do so i'll defo be doing this instead of the hob and a pan in future :)
