Went to docs to see about this recurrent thrush. So got that sorted.

Then I asked could she give me the next lot of Xenical and she said NO. She said I haven't lost enough and in her opinion it only works to help you lose that initial 10lbs or so and doesn't really work after that.

She also said inevitably people who lose weight on it put it back on as soon as they stop taking it. And the best way to lose weight is cut down portion sizes, eat less fat and sugar and do exercise.

OMG really ?? I never knew that, no wonder I wasn't losing weight :d'oh: Stupid bloody woman :flamingmad:

But ya know what? I don't give a rats ass. It's Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness day today and I'm going to spend my night remembering our angel twins lost at 18 weeks and our stillborn Ashton, and I aint going to give a piece of drivel like that doctor a second thought.

I would definitely ask to see another doctor. I can't believe she had the nerve to say that to you, Why would she prescribe you them in the first place if she only thought you were going to put the weight back on again. Thats ridiculous !!
Sorry to hear about your losses !

Oh sweetie....i dont really know what to say but didnt want to read and run. Im sorry the doctor is being a div and even sorrier to hear about your sad losses. Take care xx

OMG Karen, I'd be fuming too. Tell you what, you can print my photo journey off and nail it to her head the next time you see her ;) Initial 10lbs my back side

Anyway, gentle hugs for hun

what a *****!

10lbs my arse, if it was solely for that then she wouldnt have given them to you in the first place, maybe she was having a bad day?

enjoy your evening with your memories and go back after tomorrow and tell her you wish to continue taking them and see what she says then...

argh how rude of her!

Thanks girls.

It was a different doctor yesterday than the one that gave me the Xenical. The one who gave it me is really nice and understanding. I'm going to make an appointment to see that doctor again.

Because I was going about the thrush thing and needed an appointment soon I had to take whoever was available. Never again

Ali - I will take your info as an example if you don't mind. You've done fantastic!

Hi hun, i would defo go and see the other dr , the one that gave you them in the first place. Was it the head of your practice that refused you them, sometimes you find that the one in charge doesn't like giving out prescriptions to save money.

I'm so sorry about your losses hun xx

my doctor refuses to discuss weight loss - i have to see a nurse

I don't believe it, has your Dr had his/her head up his/her bottom for the last few years while the government and health officals have been going on about reducing obesity ? Sometimes you have to wonder how and why some of these people became Drs.

Actually, I think it's the other way round in this case. The first doc I saw is a senior partner and the one yesterday is new one and very young. I think she's trying to impress the partners you know, like "Oooo look I saved the practice some money!"

Good luck when you see the original doctor who prescribed them. How unfeeling of the other doctor, maybe she needs to rethink her bedside manner and not just quote the obvious!

I took weeks to decide to ask my doctor for them, and when the lightbulb moment came on, and I asked, he couldn't have been nicer. He was supportive and encouraging, and I was so relieved. I think I was expecting a (fully deserved) lecture ....definately a case of if you don't ask, you don't get!

So sorry to hear of your losses slimmerkay. I miscarried in 2006, and I still have moments of remembering, not that you ever truly forget.

Yeah prob a young 'i'm just qualified and know it all' type. You should see the other one and just explain what happend, i'm sure the senior partner would wan't you to see your weightloss right through . Hope you get it sorted huni xx

it is an embarrasing to finally cave and ask for help!! my doctor was quite flippant and asked " have you tried dieting?" response.... a rather shocked face and "does a bear **** in the woods" - he then old me i'd have to book an appointment with the nurse for obesity clinic - i went to the desk and and with a waiting room full of strangers i asked for the appoinment - the receptionist looked horrified and whispered " we don't call it that - just a nurse appointment" i asked her to tell the doctor i'd just seen that he could shove his obesity clinic up his not so skinny arse and she nearly pee'ing. i obviously apologised and she was also apologetic - i hate being treated like a second class citizen cos i'm fat!

i must agree with cherry! i feel people think you r in a different class cos you are fat! it really annoys me! Im one of those people who thinks everyone thinks the worst all the time! I am convinced people r laughing behind my back etc! so what your doc did to u is proper wrong!

hugs!

luv katie
