Coffee - water retention?

Focused & goin for goal!
Hi. Weighed in at 10st 3.75 on monday, gone beck up to 10st 4.75 this morning. Have stuck to the CD1000 and have been good so souldnt have gained weight.
Only thing I can think of is that it is an apparent weight gain as I dont think ive eaten anything bad. Maybe it is water retention? I did have quite a few cups of decaf coffee yesterday (maybe 6-7 ). Could it be that? Is it the actual coffee or the caffeine which causes water retention? Also because I was drinking more coffee, I haven't drank as much water as I should.
Today I've cut right down and had 2 half sized cups and a regular cup. I will be looking for a good result tomorrow
Cheers

Hi, I was interested in this one so looked it up on the net. Not saying there isn't a link, but I couldn't find one.

If I have some that comes to me and they have a poor weight loss 8 out of 10 times it is down to not drinking enought water. Caffeine can dehydrate you, which doesn't help if your haven't drank the water.

How many times a week are you weighing yourself? Once a week should be enough. Don't want to get paranoid, I no from personal experience. In the past I have weighed myself on a Monday (lost), Wednesday (gained) and by the following Monday offical weigh in I'd lost 3/4lb.

Never ever ever panic about going up a pound or two, you will retain water and then drop it even when you are eating normally so please don't get too hung up, the reality is that in the long term you MUST lose weight on the 1000 plan if you stick to it rigidly.

As far as I am aware coffee, herbal tea and water are the best things to help with water retension ... coffee helps fight water retension because it is a diuretic .. in fact it causes dehydration I think (thats the caffeine)
