Need Some Motivation :-(

Hi all

I had my first weigh in last week and lost 5lbs which i was really pleased with. This week i set off full of motivation went to the gym 3 days along with a power plate induction (anyone ever tried these? I thought they would be sooo easy but i've pulled muscles i didn't know i had!) now i feel like i've hit a massive brick wall.

I work shifts so i have been in work since friday on 12 hour days so not sure if its this thats done it or not and its been my TOTM which probably doesnt help either. Has anyone else had this problem so early on? I'm mainly eating salads and savoury rice, yoghurts, some fruit and veg although probably not enough. I bought babybel this week which wasn't a good idea coz everytime i go in the fridge i eat one of them! Incidently i haven't bought anymore because i know i will go over my syns!

I am dreading WI this week because i'm sure i won't have lost even a lb :sigh:

Woahh! Now lets not predict what's going to happen! Well done by the way for not weighing yourself! I'm sure that TOTM has alot to do with this. I don't buy babybel for the same reason, at least cutting and weighing cheese makes you think! Have you done a food diary? It should be easy enough to tot up your syns. Draw a line underneath it and stick to the plan, I bet things won't be half as bad as you imagine, and KEEP GOING! Another well done for the exercise!

You've made a great start (awesome first losses) but it sounds like you're almost self-sabotaging now. Try not to panic about being perfect, or rushing to goal.

Long shifts can't be easy but with a little imagination and planning, you should be able to make any food you take SW friendly. Good call about the cheeses though, I have to watch out for seductive foods too ;). Going to the gym a lot seems to temporarily slow some people's weight losses but I'm sure it is a good thing, in that it tones and creates muscles. The scales don't tell us everything.

Rome wasn't built in a day and you're not going to be slim overnight but hang in there...SW most certainly WORKS. The difference between success and failure isn't so much about driving yourself to be thin, it's more about relaxing and allowing it to happen, without beating yourself up every two minutes.

Good luck and cheer up, you're going to be slim and gorgeous before you know it!

Thanks guys I am on nights from tomorrow so hopefully i'll manage a bit better because i find that once i've eaten halfway through my shift i don't seem to snack as much whereas when i'm on days i tend to pick all day :-(

I have to miss weigh in this week because i'm working so i have decided to put this week behind me and get going again. I have started SW with a friend at work and she has given me a stern talking to today as well so i'm hopefully heading back in the right direction now!

Its strange that i've finally taken a step in the right direction to do something about my weight yet i can still fall off the wagon so easily!

Bread is a massive weakness for me too even though it gives me tummy troubles so i've decided to do without that too and just stick to crackerbreads instead whilst i get my head round everything as i don't seem to do things in moderation where my fave foods are concerned!

I remembered to take my measurements too before i started the gym again so if i keep it up i might see some results on the tape measure next month :)
