How did you all cope

Hi all,
I'm into my 10th week of LT and the longer I go on the worse I feel about not eating.

Everyone seems to say the first week is the hardest, but I breezed through that with no side effects at all, but am suffering big time now.

I think about food more now than I did when I was still eating - and that is saying ALOT.

Breakfast is fine, it gets a bit worse during the afternoon and by dinner time all I want is a cup of tea with some milk and solid food.

I've got another 4 1/2 weeks to go and by then I should be (fingers crossed) at my LT goal - although still want to lose an extra stone with healthy eating and exercise afterwards - but I don't know how I'm going to get through it, when each day is such a struggle of epic proportions. :sigh:

Are you drinking enough water? Atleast 2litres a day not including your shakes?

It really is mind over matter. What do you want more? That food or to get on the scales on your weigh in day and see a loss and eventually get to a healthy weight where you feel much better about yourself?

You've done the worst bit and are now on the down side of the hill to your goal. You cannot ruin all your good work so far this close to goal. Your remaining time will fly by. Its not long now - you gotta get there its too close to fail now :D

I'm drinking oodles of water - between 3 and 4L per day.

I'm not hungry though, just feel like there is nothing - and this might sound stupid - to look forward to after a long day at work.

Food is such a bit part of everyday life. I had no idea how much food was shoved in our face - most tv adverts, magazine adverts and even tv shows - it's a constant bombardment by the food industry. No wonder people are getting chubbier.

After I get weighed every week I feel fabulous and like I could carry on with LT for ages, but by mid week I'm going nuts again.

I suppose my only options are to stop LT or shut up I guess. :sigh: The latter is obviously going to be my choice.

Well im glad you picked the latter! :giggle: no offence! You are now on the home straight, 4 weeks is nothing - it will fly! :)

10 weeks is along time, and you should be really proud of yourself! 4 Weeks isnt to long to go, and if you do you will be so proud of yourself for seeing it through till the end! Good Luck hun!!

When i was first on LT i think i was on it for about 8/9 weeks.

And as loopy as it sounds, i found sniffing peoples food helped ALOT.
It might just be that im mental, but after a quick sniff of this or a quick sniff of that, i didnt really feel the need to eat it!

You have done so well and you will manage to keep going for the last few weeks. It is probably the change in season as well that is affecting you. The drawing in of the evenings and the chillier weather all make us yearn for comforting dinners etc. So just kep strong, you have done a lot to be so proud of.

I had that too hun. I'm never hungry on LT, I do crave a lot! which is something that I and many others on here need to learn to tell the difference to avoid meaningless weight gain.

I was on LT for about I think 24 weeks the first time I did it, it was hard as I was starting to get fed up and bored. But you have to keep telling yourself that it's all worth it in the end. It's just 4 more weeks, you've managed this long, who says you can't carry on? you're doing so well :hug99:

Hun i was exactly the same as you week one no bothers week 2 and 3 jesus i really really suffered. it did get better thou much better. i tink you will always get bad weeks its not a magical potion. you will have cravings and feel hungry coz its a human response. its about how you deal with these feelings.

I am desperate for a nice cup of tea with milk in. I am watching loads of cookery programmes and I don't think it is really helping lol. Last time it got so I was dreaming about food. Stay strong and u will soon be at the end of your journey. Just make sure u stay there!!!!

I have to say, I am finding it easier than the first few weeks, but, maybe this is just it catching up with you ;-) I do have some days where I just think, "gah, this is so boring, I just want some Monster Munch!!" & I've never watched so many food programmes/read so many online recipes/cook books. Heh. I'm obsessed with food! But just in a way that I enjoy, is there anyway you can enjoy thinking about it?

It might be because you're on the final stretch now? But, you're on your way, you've done brilliantly so far! Keep it up, you know it's worth it! Good luck :)

You're doing sooo well.

I wonder if it's maybe because you're getting closer to goal and therefore it doesn't feel quite so desperate to lose the weight. I mean for me, because I'm still huge and have a lot to lose, I'm loving it. But I can imagine that if I was near the weight I wanted to be I'd be tempted to think 'near enough...get me some solid food!'

You've managed brilliantly tho- it would be a shame to end now. Keep strong hun- you'll do it!

Hi there, maybe you're right about it being cos I'm only a few weeks away and I'm just being too impatient.

I've been reading a lot about nutrition over the last few weeks. I've been to two nutritionists over the years, so have also been reading over the notes I got from them and watching You are what you eat.

I think it's a combination of being so close to the end, and looking at so much informaton about food, that is the culprit. And maybe also the cold weather and wintery evenings.

I keep staring at people who are eating! haha...I found myself watching a bloke that walked past eating a pasty!! I wouldnt mind but before i started on LT i didnt even eat pasties!!
