or have them come to our house I really want to do it why to husband have this way of pissing on your parade. I am not sure I have any other options if I hire a room or hall it will eat into my profits surely I was so excited this morning and now i have told him I am so fed up.

just concerned about costs really but i suppose thats something i could look into

My CDC works purely from her house and doesnt visit anybody AT ALL she does really well!

Is this an option for you?

Chin up x

no as hubby works from home :-(

Oh no :(

I can totally understand your hubbys pov though...although annoying

Is it the 'male client' thing that is putting him off? how bout only visiting females? i'd guess majority of work would be female anyway..and direct a male to someone else you know? just trying to think different avenues

Or

Just use the kitchen of your house ?

he just said no he doesn't want strangers in the house while he is working end of. Thats the end of that he isn't the type to reason with I don't see why I can't go to other people houses but he said he was worried about the dangers of going to see people we don't know. My CDC works from her beauty saloon and he wants to know why I can't do it there but she stuggles to find a spare room herself.

Very bad ..sorry

Hi Kerry,
Im a new counsellor, and I work from home and also visit some people depending on where they live to me..
You would have a lengthy phone conversation with the person so you really would get a feeling on the phone if something was not quite right..
I must say the people I have had from the cambridge website have all come to me so far..
If you really want to do it you should find a way hon....
Good luck with whatever you decide x

cheers guys I am going to go for it and deal with the fall out after lol and most of my people will be refered on from my own CDC so I am going to go for it and deal with how I am going to do it later

I would do it any way as well but I have the sort of relationship with my OH where I can do what I want and he knows he can't stop me so why bother arguing with me.:D
I know not everyones relationships work like that and we can all sit here and tell you to do it any way but only you know how things work with you and your OH.

Good for you Kerry!!!

This is near on 2010!!! and us women need work as much as men not just a financial level but brain wise too! ive had my own business now for nearly 8 years and could never ever not work...or work for someone again lol

You'll be great ;)

Your hubby may not like you doing your thing but you are your OWN person too..just like him ;)

Sorry to kinda rant but nothing gets me more than men who dont let their 'women' make choices like they have!

Hugs x

my ex cdc did her thing from her kitchen, just had all her stuff on the worktops. She was also strict in only doing a couple of hours, a couple of times a week to fit in with other work. It wasn't ideal, and you were tripping over others to select your bars and sachets, but at the time I just wanted the shakes and it didnt worry me. I thought about being a cdc myself. I did say it to hubby and he too wasn't keen, but I said if I wanted to do it I would. He doesn't work from home and it's my name on the mortgage, I can do what I like in the home I have half bought and paid for!!

Well done for going for it, I would but Im the type of person to dig my heals in if anyone says no to me when i want to do something.

Its a really good opportunity for you so good luck and I hope it all works out for you xxx

my previous cdc worked out of a shed thing in her garden, worked really well
space to do cambridge at home without people trapsing in and out ur home

Hi kerry

Could you work from a local friend/relative's house, have set hours and day/s that you will meet clients, it might mean that occasionally someone came to your house if they couldn't get to your regular sessions (or you might go to their house/workplace), but hopefully you would know them well by that stage.
I have suggested this on the basis I have heard of a CD counsellor that does this.

Hope that you find a solution x

Me and my CDC have a good relationship - i place my order on the monday/tuesday ready for WI on Fridays, she bags up the orders she has so when you get there its: hop on scales, chat, pick up your bag and you gone - I am usually there 10-15 minutes and i don't feel rushed - she is just organised!!

i think if you adopted a method like this it would cause minimal disruption in your house - more like having a friend pop round.. do it girl - I definitely will when i am closer to my goal!!

Glad you have decided to go ahead with being a CDC - perhaps a friend might let you borrow a room in their house in exchange for being their CDC! And your other half might be happier knowing that someone else was around when people came to see you. Good luck with it however you manage to do it!
