:( I just keep on braking down and picking! I find it so hard, but I really want to do it and look good by summer! Any tips please??? Anybody like to be my cd buddy and try to beat it together?

Hi Alcala,
Welcome to this great site. You will get lots and lots of advice on here.

You really do need to be in the zone to do any VLCD. You really really need to want to be slim. Your dream is not that far away. Keep strong and positive. The first 3-5 days were the worst for me but when you get into ketosis your hunger pangs will go and also the feeling of wanting to eat.

You can do this as so many have done before and its a great feeling putting on the size 12 jeans and feeling confident happy and healthy.

Take control!! It is so worth it in the long run!! Good luck hun!

Hi Alcala
thank you for your lovely message - unfortunately I cannot respond to you by PM as you have specified that you do not wish to receive messages?
You are already mentally preparing yourself to get into the zone - you have decided that you want to shed your weight and be slim for Summer.
All you need now is determination.
"Food is nutrition not pleasure" is a good mantra to start with - your packs are your nutrition.
If you keep picking you are cheating yourself and punishing yourself - why are you sabotaging your own success?
You need to forget the taste of food for the next few months - it is a short sharp shock but so worth it.
If you cannot answer these questions yourself, it may be that Lighter life will be better for you as the counselling will help you discover the reasons why you punish yourself with food.
Food addiction is a hard one to crack - we have to live with food - we cannot give it up for ever like alcoholics can stop drinking alcohol - we have to learn to tame our addiction.
I struggle every day at the moment - its time for me to return for some counselling and luckily my LL counsellor welcomes me with open arms - [and she gets no renumeration for it]
Once you resign yourself to no food , the diet is so very easy and so rewarding.
Keep dreaming of a slim summer - you can make that dream come true..........

What I do is set little goals to achieve in a short time this way you feel so good if you reach them and even better if you outdo them.
As I have a lot of weight to lose I find if I look at the bigger picture it is so daunting and I feel down and start to pick. Now I know what triggers me off, I set little mini goals for say 2 weeks at a time.

Keep your chin up and keep posting ....talking about how you feel sure does help to unburden your shoulders.

Alcala ill do it with yah!!Ive been pickin for a few weeks..but am just on day 2 now....We can defo do this!!just one day at a time!:)

I've been struggling myself lately....

One thing that has helped a little is I drew a graph showing my losses so far, I quite look forward to drawing in a downward line every week. ALthough I hate it when I need to draw the other way....sigh. I have it on the fridge door with magnets so I can try and stop myself eating. Doesn't always work but it seems to help a bit.

Anyway the only other advice I have is NEVER give up!!

You can do it!

I'm another one who likes the charts and things. My new chart is nice and simple, just a few spaces for the date, how much water I drank, did I have all my rations and a nice space for a sticker if I've been good. Oh yes.....my beloved sticker. I can't cope for a week at a time before being rewarded....so I use stickers.

I may respond like a 5 year old, but it works for me!

Mini goals are a great idea, just working out how often you need to be rewarded is tough.....as I say, I need something every day!! lol.

Restarting is very very hard, you need to think of something to make it fresh and new again to you. It won't have the same first time feeling anymore.

Difficult......but can be done! get yourself an iron will and get past the first week - then its business as usual.

xx
