I am confused by bmi
On LT site my bmi is much lower than it is in the gym
there it is 31%
Can anyone shed any light on that?

Your BMI is your Body Mass Index and is a number not a percentage, and is determined by your height & weight. GP's and nutritionists use it to determine if you're a normal weight, overweight or obese.
I think you may be confusing it with your body fat %?

Dont pay any attention to the bmi chart - it is a bag of poo!!! (imho anyways). It doesnt account for personal factors and is too basic to be able to fit every single individual.

For example, my brother, built full of muscle, he is only little (around 5'2) and the bmi chart says he is obese .... now come on seriously?!!!! This is the main reason i see it as a bunch of crap! :giggle:

And yeah i think maybe you are getting it confused as bmi is a number not percentage ....

If you are 5ft 1 and weigh 136lb, then your BMI is 25.7

Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both adult men and women.

Like said above, just use it as a rough guide to where you want to be, but dont be ruled by it.

My BMI is around 24.1 and I feel great at the weight I am.

The medical profession like it to be 25 or under, but not under 21 (I think 21 is the lower number, but not 100% sure) Dont use it as a rule, but just continue until you feel comfortable, and your current bmi is not a bad bmi anyway.

What everyone else has said ... ;) just except that the lower number in the healthy BMI range is 18 :) - not that I'll ever have to worry about that ;) xx
