My Consultant didn't comment!!!

Brightonrosie

I want to be fitter again
Got to club 10 today and thought I must have made a mistake because my consultant didn't comment!!! She also incinuated I hadn't been accurate with my food diary becuase I would loose more than half pound a week if that is all I had eaten. Every morsel that passed my lips with the exception of my toothpaste had been recorded. GRRRRRRRRRR me thinks it's time to look for another group

sounds like its time for you to move hunny.. she doesnt sound supportive, also inform sw.. they'r there to help improve the quality of service the consultants provide. . and everyone else deserves their value for money also, she obviously needs some extra training and support. . xxxx congratulations on your club ten, thats fantastic :) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

How rude! I hate being called a liar. It almost happened to me at my class once (she made a general point, after something I said) and I got very close to saving my money and slimming at home.

My consultant is a bit slack about Club 10 too...Sometimes you have to nudge them.

Some Consultants lack finesse that's for sure!
She may not have noticed that you'd reached your club 10, remind her next week. You should have been congratulated and made a big fuss of -it's a great achievement and should be celebrated in class for your own benefit and to spur on and give everyone else confidence.

As far as the food diary goes, if someone says they are disappointed with their loss, the consultants are encouraged to tell the member to examine their weeks' eating - have they picked, are their portions too big etc. Some consultants don't word this very encouragingly! Have a quiet word with yours and tell er that you weren't impressed with what she said - how can she get better if you don't tell her she's not doing a very good job.

I think you are doing great. Congratulations on reaching club 10!

If your club is still on the paper system then it's easily overlooked, it wasn't till I put my weight on the SW website and my award flashed up I realised I'd got mine. When the group has gone digital it should automatically flash up.So it shouldn't get missed.

Well done on achieving it! Have you another group you could go to? It's SO important that you like your consultant. You don't have much to lose so you won't be losing great lumps! What you need is encouragement and ideas.

sorry but i don't think it's any excuse!
My consultant is still on paper and she never misses a single thing, she always has stickers and certs on hand, and she doesnt even weigh them, another lady does and she keeps on top of it also. She always makes a great fuss, no matter how big or small the loss. .
Deffinatly either say somthing to her, or if you feel you cant contact sw in confidence, leave it to them, and find another group xxx

Wow, how cheeky is that? Everyone loses weight at a different rate, so don't let her make you feel bad honey, how rude! Well done on the 10% as well!! I think it is definitely time to move on to another group and let her know why you are leaving!

xx

Thats not very encouraging!!! My consultant tells me every week my food diary is perfect but I keep sts and/or gaining & she's not said to me the same as yours...!?

I reached my Club 10 & hadn't been told about the sticker or the letter we get sent, by the time my consultant realised I'd reached mine it was about 6 weeks later so I didnt get a well done either.

Congrats on your club 10 hun, it's a fab achievement!!

does your consultant do the weighing? Did the weigh lady realise? I do the weighing and put the awards on the books and fill out the certificates ready for the consultant when she does image therapy. She has no idea who has done what up until that point! I sometimes miss the awards (if I have a huge queue) and don't see it on the little pda thing but the person being weighed is quick to remind me!

All I am saying is that your consultant is only human and may have overlooked it - did you say "by the way, I am due my Club 10 tonight?"

You should also fill out a form which will entitle you to a free week in 10 weeks time providing you stay the same or lose more weight.

No excuses for the food diary comment though, none at all!!

Hun that is rubbish, maybe it is time to find another group. Our consultant even claps weight gain, by telling people how much has been lost despite a small gain and congrats for coming to class and facing up to it and telling everyone what they're going to do this week to get a good result and to spur them on to do it.

A girl at our class comes with her mum and she was obviously really upset, she looks about 19 and she'd had lots of chocolate and had a gain, she wasn't made to feel bad or silly or greedy, she was applauded for coming, applauded for supporting her mum and applauded for making an extra big effort next week now she knows what her foodie pitfalls are, then she moved swiftly on so the girl didn't feel bad and like everyone was focussed on her.

I travel about 45 minutes out of my way to get to my class, and it's worth it for the good consultant.

Hiya, I do the WI's at our class and we make a fuss of every weight loss no matter how small or big. We have a bell by the scales and anyone can ring it be it to celebrate a good weight loss or if the person has maintained after a stressfull week or for any other reason.

We always make it known and celebrated when someone achieves their Club 10, half stone etc. As soon as anyone gets their club 10 I make sure they are given the sheet that needs to be filled in that night and our consultant posts it to HO the next day and Club 10 stickers are put on the persons book and they are presented with their book during class followed by a round of applause.

We are lucky our consultant and the people that help her, like me are extremely motivated in making the class a success. We also have a buddy system via mobile or on facebook.

That's not very nice of her. Doesn't matter if you lose 1/2lb a week or 5lbs a week, you are losing and should be encouraged the same as everyone else not called a liar - that is just disgusting.

Anyway before the steam coming out of my ears melts the paint of the walls, definitely find another group, with hopefully a more considerate and encouraging consultant.

Congratulations on getting your 10% as well.

Well done reaching that Club 10 Award - make sure you point it out at group, and make sure you celebrate it!

It's a shame some Consultants don't notice these things, and yes I agree that it isn't always made obvious to the Consultant, especially if he/she is doing a new members talk at the time one of her social team members are doing the weigh-ins for instance - but if the Consultant has taken the time to show the weigh-in person what to look out for etc., then please remember not to put too much blame on her/him for missing it - these social team members are doing this to help out but it is ultimately the Consultant's JOB to ensure their group is running well and keeping all his/her members happy - otherwise we can all pay our money to another Consultant at another group, can't we?

Best o'luck'n'stuff with your weightloss and a very BIG "well done"!

My consultant never does the weigh in, new members or not. She is there to assist the members before Image Therapy starts, I do the weighing and the C is available for any advice or support the members need. I've never been to a group where the C does the weighing (wait for the barrage of my C does it comments!!)

I can honestly say, It's not often I miss an award but on the odd occassion I do, I'm soon told about it by the person and I stick it on the book putting it to one side for the consultant for IT.

Was it put on your book Brightonrosie? If it wasn't, then there's the problem!!

Thank you everyone for your encouraging words. I don't have any official record of this achievement at all and Like one other person said , it wasn't until i entered my weight on line the award popped up. There are only 6 people at our group so no excuses of being too busy and the Con does the weighing herself. i am very lucky in Brighton in that i have a wide choice of groups to go to but just a bit peeved because we have had so many changes of cons in the 18 weeks I have been going. This one is the fourth !! Anyway the diet is for me and I can do it without her support but I don't think i could do it without yours xxxxxxxxxx

I've recently been doing WI for my group and I make sure I check for every possible award while they are there. The C always (even when I don't do WI) always spends time with whoever does WI and runs through all awards before group starts. She does awards first and always makes sure praise is given when due.

I think it's terrible that your C isn't checking - the mini goals are what keep you going! And it doesn't matter if you're losing the weight half a lb at a time - it's a loss.

C's are generally, from what I have seen and experienced, very good. But there also seem to be some that lack the same level of enthusiasm etc.

She may be having a bad time - bear that in mind - but if she's just generally narky maybe more. She might be having a bad time but she shouldn't be niggling at steady losses, albeit how 'small'. And...members pay for the group to keep going so she shouldn't make you feel so bad!

And having checked your weight - you're not heavy! Losses do slow - we all know that! Grrr!

Well done on your losses to date - WE think you're going well xxx

we get a letter? Got mine a while back but no letter lol!

And i would leave the group, shes meant to make you feel better not worse. Good luck! :] x

- when you reach club 10 you get a free week.. sw will send you a letter and you have to have kept loosing or kept that club 10 off for 6-12 weeks i think before you can use it. xxxx
