Original How can I eat it all-should not be original dont know how it got there

Aaleigha

soon to be mother of the bride
I do not have small portions so I eat quite a bit - I eat until satisfied not over full

today I have had
strawberries raspberries banana and 2 activia fat free yogs for breakfast

lunch
was a jacket potato half a tin of beans and dry fried mushrooms
with that I have healthy B choice of 57g med fat soft cheese
dinner was
cabbage and homemade syn free shepherds pie with 1.5syns of gravy

now according to my calculations I still have
one or two healthy a choices
one healthy b choice and at least 8.5 syns
but I am full and I will not need to eat again tonight

so should I have the extra food or not - I really dont like eating for the sake of it

if it is a case of eating an a choice for the calcuim I have had 2 ff yogs
if it is a case of b choices for proteins then I have had quorn and peas beans etc so I dont need them for a balanced diet

sorry but I am really at a loss as to whether to just eat something when I am not hungry

You really do need to eat your healthy extras, Syn wise youre ok - youve had some :)

If youre not going to eat again tonight Id suggest planning ahead tomorrow and making sure you incorporate them. Its still early, could you not even have toast with a cuppa later???

Sandy I really really am not hungry and if I have anything much later than this I will end up with stomach ache before bedtime

last night I made myself have cheese and crisps to use up healthy extras and some syns and ended up not sleeping well due to being over full :)
tomorrow will take some alpen light bars to work and nibble on them instead of apples :)

Are you on a green day?

My consultant did say to me once, when I was worried about not getting my As in, that if you eat plenty of ff yoghurt, then the As aren't as important as you're still getting calcium in...but not to make a habit of missing them out! Bs are for fibre as well as protein.

Was your shepherds pie made with quorn mince?

As Starlight said, I wouldn't worry about your syns, as you've had more than 5 today, so that's ok and if you want to use a few more another day then that's fine.

If you don't want to eat again then don't force yourself, however for future days, plan your day's meals better so your As and Bs are incorporated into your day. For example, I often mix a HE-A of cheese into my mash, topping off a shepherds or cottage pie. Or, I use milk to make a hot chocolate near bedtime to help me sleep!

Get used to eating more! Although this is a 'diet' it's not restrictive and you eat to your appetite! If you don't lose this week and you've regularly been missing your HEs then that may explain it. You may not be eating enough calories overall. If you gradually increase what you eat so you get used to it, then hopefully you will be on track but also not have your sleep affected!

I am on a green day
as a vegetarian I only do green days
and it was a quorn shepherds pie

I think I have 'over done' the free foods

tomorrow is planned to have one healthy a and one healthy be and 9.5 syns so much better

If you're not hungry, then don't eat! Simple as ;)

The healthy extras are there simply to make sure you get enough calcium, protein and fibre in your diet. A day here or there without them won't hurt :)

Before SW, did you count your daily protein, fibre and calcium content? I know i didn't! :D lol

The book does state that you should have 3 to 4 healthy extras per day. Once you reach target it will be your healthy extras which will increase in numbers. Don't forget things like olive oil can be a healthy b option or a tablespoon of pine nuts which when toasted are yummy in a salad.xx

tomorrows healthy extras are
drum roll please

healthy b alpen light bars (to snack on at work)
56g of cheddar (might have 104g of leskol) one a one b
most likely take some cubes to snack on at work with some tomatoes
and then use the rest on some syn free chips at dinner :):)

amd I could still have some milk for a hot chocolate if I like (loved that suggestion)

Chocolate is always a winning suggestion...especially hot and milky! mmm! ;)
