Hiya

I am meeting my Counsellor for the first time this coming Wednesday, and i am looking forward to getting started :bliss:.
(my previous thread about it)

I want to ask my Counsellor if i can do a 1000 cal instead of the 1200, with the fact my bmi is higher than 40 i needed the doc to sign a medical form but he wouldn't due to surgery policy, only thing i take is the mini pill (so no medication or anything).

Has anyone else been accepted by the Counsellor for doing a 1000 cal diet with having a bmi of over 40 and doctor refusing to sign the form?

(sorry for almost putting up a double post, but i just wanted to ask this question separate)

Thanks if anyone can reply (or if this makes sense to anyone else :giggle: )

Sorry , should this be in the

CD 1000-maintenance part?

Hi Mummyofthreegirls!

I am really sorry - but I can't help you here!!!! But I thought I would let you know!!!

I did look into LighterLife before I started this diet - and I know some people have to go private to get the form signed off.

I am sorry that your Doctor wasn't alot of help - you could always try another one. It is a shame, as you are trying to help yourself and most Doctors are usually postive and support you! Did you ask what was behind the policy??? I hate people having rules for rules sake!!!

To be fair, I think your losses will still be really good on the 1200 diet - and at least you can start this while you try to get the 1000 diet signed off!!!

Good luck for your journey - CD is really life changing!!!

Thanks very much Bethan :)

Hi there

Good luck on your journey.... I started on SS from the beginning with a BMI of 46! All without my GP's consent ;-)

O how did you do that Anni?
Thanks to :) xx

hiya

My CDC stated that it would be 'wise' to inform my GP then she said she would contact her (but never did). I mentioned this to my GP a few months ago, but she said she didnt get any paperwork stating i was on a VLCD and also stated that if i had come to the clinic with a consent form - she wouldnt have signed it anyway!!! Then congratulated me for losing the weight and said i looked so much better.

Do you wish to start on a lower plan??? I think it depends on your CDc to be honest. Im glad mine let me go ahead anyway as i wouldnt have done the diet on a higher plan. I HAD to do it SS food free from the beginning! So far, its going great ;-)

good luck

x

I ideally would love to do the ss one. My doctor said that he would not sign the form, and the other reasons being the rebound effects of the diet (i don't fully know what that means though).
I will ask my CDC and see what she says, but i think she is pretty by the rules, so might not allow me to do it. I have a BMI close to 50! so that alone should be enough to say yes, to get the weight down.

I am feeling so low about being in such a mess, so what ever way i do this diet, the weight will come off, i am not going to cheat because i can not afford to.

I am glad to hear your CDC was good and let you do the ss though Anni it sounds like she is really good. I hope i am as lucky.

Thanks again! :)
