We are a bit on the skint side this week so I'm popping into my local Aldi I'm going to be trying some of the fishmonger range and the cook it, eat it, love it range as lots are free or low in syns!
Same boat as us then.... what makes aldi difficult is that you cant get any branded items there... Quorn... Mug shots... etc....
When I was a SW member they were only just introducing Aldi onto the online Syns etc so any super low syn or syn free products you can recommend would be gratefully appreciated!
I'm about to be made redundant o I'm trying to shop at Aldi for the majority of our food, and then do a monthly Tesco stock up on brands.
I know gammon steaks with mango and chilli salsa are free, as are the lamb shanks on red wine sauce. Otherwise I'm clueless and my book is way out of date on Aldi products. Am scouring ebay for a more up to date version.
Hun you'd be better off going for cuts of meat that you can trim if you're trying to cut back. for a fiver you can get either 2 Aldi lamb shanks or you can get 2-3 packs of basic chicken legs that contain about 4 legs in a pack from tesco or Asda or one of the big boys.
netto do whole chickens for as little as £1.59 too some weeks.
i shop at aldi , since the credit crunch hit , i get my fruit and veg and fell able too stock up quite cheaply , i buy my milk , and bacon gammon , and pasta from there and pop over too tesco for the branded name things hope that helps
