Hi, does anyone know of a way to make roast potatoes on SW, say using frylight? Is it possible to do so and have syn free ones? (My mouth is watering thinking about it now ha ). Thanks x

yyeeeessss... chop and par boil spuds.
Douse em in frylight
whack em in the oven like regular roast spuds.

NOM!

I just cut mind and spray a baking tray with fry light and then spray the potatoes themselves and perhaps sprinkle a few herbs on them - depends how ambitious I am feeling!

oh yeah - and take out, turn, respray and put back in halfway through roasting.

i par boil, put on a hot oven tray sprayed with fry light, sprinkle on some soya sauce, and roll around so they are all covered, keep them in oven till crispy, tastes just like proper roasties from the meat juices, yummy.

I used the butter frylight on mine. I could hardly tell the difference between SW ones and the ones I normally do. Yum yum!!!!

I par boil, drain the water, shake with saucepan lid on, to rough them up a bit, then I put 2 squeezes of marmite on them stir it around then put on the tray with fry light, cook until crispy, my consultant brought them in to tastes, they are fandabydosie!

Used to do all that until I got my actifry last year..it's so quick my oven hasn't seen a potato since & they are absolutely delicious...the same as everything that goes in it.

So if the fry light ok for the acti-fry? I haven't got one yet but 2 of my daughters do and haven't tried the fry light in it, as yet.

Yes you can use frylite in the actifry. Things like sausages & meat are brilliant with frylite. Chips & potatoes are very nice, but I do try to reserve a few syns for olive oil with them because I think they are better than ordinary chips & roasties with with it.

I've just had roast potatoes tonight, my own kind though. lol

I microwave two medium sized potatos in their skins for approx 7 mins.

Then cut them both in half, place on a baking tray, sprinkle with some salt and spray with some frylight and then bake in the oven to crisp and golden brown.

Delicious!!!!

Just e-mailed the 2 daughters with the Actifry re the frylight - they'll be trying it out tomorrow! I think I might visit - lol

Update on the Actifry Roasties - they were lovely with the Frylight, but even better using the olive oil right enough ..... my daughters are going to try the Frylight for other things in their Actifry's too ..... they're keen to lose a couple of extra pounds and this could help a bit, together with my Slimming World books they've "borrowed"! - I'd better get them back though .... lol
