Hi,
My name is Kerry and I've just started Lt. I'm now on day 5 and trying to stay really possitive.
I know I have ketones in my body but still feel hungry, was hoping this would have lessened a bit by now.
Does it get any easier? Or do you always have that hungry feeling going on?
I'm drinking around 5-6 pints of water a day so think I'm drinking enough.
Anyway any thoughts would really be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Kerry
PS Thankgod I found this forum aswell

Hi Kerry,

Welcome to the Forum. This place is what makes it easier. The hunger does go and come back but I think that it is more in the head then anything. Just remember that you will have good days and yucky days. Try to keep busy which really helps and passes the time. When you start feeling the difference you will be happy hun.
Good Luck! not long left until you get weighed wooohooo

Hi Jesi,
Thanks for your reply.
I weigh in on tuesday and I'm hoping for a good loss.
I think I might be spending quite a few hours on here looking for inspiration....lol
I know its a matter of mind over matter, just need to get through the 1st week I think.
Best wishes,
Kerry

Hi Kerry

Welcome!!! This forum was an absolute life saver for me and gave me so much support!! Hopefully, it will do the same for you.

The hunger stayed with me for ever it seemed. I wasnt one of the lucky ones that the hunger stopped as soon as I got into ketosis, but to be honest I prefer the feeling of hunger than the feeling of total bloatedness, which was the norm before LT.

My one point of advice to you - STAY POSITIVE!!!! Gets you through really bad days, and always come on here whenever you can.

Good luck on your LT journey, and again Welcome.

Take care

hi ive just joined this site after reading loadsa success stories.
im jenny, almost 25 and have about 3 or 4 stone to lose. im a sahm to 2 beautiful little girls 3 & 5.
im on day 6 2day and getting weighted 2moro, so excited. my scales show ive lost bout 10lbs so hopefully will be the same at chemist.

Hi Scotsmist,
Thanks for the welcome. I think I might be like you and have days where I just feel hungry.
I'm having my shakes ar around 8am, 12-1pm and then 5-6pm. Does that sound about right.
I've also tried the chicken soup and couldnt stand it, tried to add more water to it last night and that made it more bearable. I'm guessing its ok to add more water to the shakes?
Anyway thanks again,
Kerry

Hi Jenny,
Good luck for tomorrow, bet your really excited!
I dont have any scales at home, last lot broke.....lol And I never replaced them so wont know how much I've lost till I get weighed on tuesday.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you,
Kerry

I would personally have your last shake a little later if possible....

I had my first at 7:30am, 2nd fluctuated between 1pm-3pm depending on how hungry/busy I was at work and my 3rd around 6-8pm.

I must admit I loved the soup! I used to boil the kettle, then use my RONDO, which is like an electronic chopper.....put around 400ml of the hot water in the chopper, then the soup and whisked...then I popped in micro for around 40sec...and it was delicious :) I used to use around 240ml water, but ended up with more as I preferred it.
You can use more water...the more the better really as it will add to your water intake for the day.

I used to have sparkling water in the evening as well as this helped me and filled me up, but in the end I was quite satisfied as I had my 3-4 litres of water which I do think helps with the hunger.

Hope all goes well on WI NO 1!! I am sure it will and you will be raring to go for week 2.

welcome to you both. I'm on day 12 and i get hunger pangs, although they feel more like cravings to me, after some water and doing something else, they go away, i only get a couple a day now! Hope your weigh ins go really well!!

Hi Jenny

Welcome to you too!! Why dont you do a separate thread and introduce yourself :)

Good luck for tomorrow, BUT, a word of warning (that I am sure a lot more will advocate as well), TRY and ditch the scales at home. Hide them and only get yourself weighed every week at the pharmacy. I say this because it could disappoint you if your scales are way out to your pharmacist.

You will lose your 3-4 stone in no time at all, I lost 3st 5lb in a 3 months....back on TFR tomorrow after holidays to lose my last 1 stone.

Good luck!!!

hi, thanks for all the lovely welcomes.
never seen a site like this before, everyone is so friendly and supportive.
im so addicted to weighing myself every morning, try not to but cant help it. i will try harder.
is any1 exercising 2? ive been doing almost an hour a day as want to tone up as well, bit worried about excess skin if i lose weight quickly. any1 experienced this.
thx

Hi Jenny

there has been a lot of debate about exercising whilst on LT. Firstly, you will start to get dizzy spells as you go on and not always good to do aerobic work as you may find it difficult. Then again, there are a lot of people that have done exercise through out LT.

I personally didnt, but dont have any loose skin. I wish I had done more at the beginning as only 4 weeks before refeeding I got a vibroplate and it worked wonders on toning me.

Depends how you feel. Incidentally, I emailed LT to find out what they felt about exercising and they told me that there was no problem with it, so I would say it is entirely up to you.

There are people that go to the gym, go to yoga, use powerplate, Wii fit, etc.....but then others that didnt want to do anything....you will know your body and know what you can and cant do. All I would say is that in Wk 1, dont do anything as you will have ZERO energy anyway. Maybe build it up and do a lot of toning too.

I am certainly no expert, but i have heard on here that too much excercise can put your body into starvation mode. I do 2 sessions at the gym each week, both with 15 mins walking (starting slow then going a bit faster) and about 40 mins weight, mainly on my arms and legs. I have only lost 16lbs so far, but i don't have any loose skin, i really hope i don't get any as time goes on.

Hi,
Thanks for the tips from all of you.
Will try and hold out later for the last shake. I did have my lunchtime shake later today at around 2 so going later on the evening one shouldnt be too much of a problem.
I think you hit the nail on the head in one of your posts scotsmist anout feeling hungry and not full. I think I need to get used to feeling emptier rather than fuller and bloated.
This will prob take some time to adjust to but I've got to give it a damn good go.
I wont be buying scales, I'd be like you Jenny, I would weigh myself all the time.
I bought some keytone sticks to pee on to see if your in keytosis and I'm already addicted to peeing on those bloody things.
As you can tell I have an addictive nature hence the weighloss needed....lol
Good luck everyone and a big thanks again for the welcome,
Kerry

hi scotsmist,

thx for info.

i started exercising again 2 weeks ago and have felt fine doing in LT also, just not for quite as long as i find after 20mins ive had enough. trying to do 3 lost of 20mins throughout the day. think i'll carry on as long as energy allows it.
a few years ago i was a personal trainer and boxercise instructor, after 2 kids and a car crash i gave up work and just ate everything in sight. think my muscles are remembering what it use to be like. lol.

lol, the weigh in becomes the highlight of the week, and you are certainly not the only person here who gets excited about it, i think we all do!!! best of luck for a great 1st weigh in!!!

Welcome to both of you i make my shakes by using a blender 400ml of water and about 4 ice cubes, you gat loads and it really fills you up, i also get bloated by the water but it is necessary and after a good nights sleep you feel great! good luck, maybe next week try a flapjack, i love them and they help you in the toilet department if you know what i mean!!!!
