When I saw my CDC on Tuesday she mentioned that as my BMI is almost 26 I would have to move up plans probably next week. Am worried about this as I feel I still need to loose about another stone (am a size 16 and would like to be a 14), am also worried about eating food again as don't want to go back to my old ways, iykwim. Am I allowed to stay on SS+ until I feel ready or do I have to do as I'm told and start introducing food?

the rules are that you can not have a healthy BMI (25 or lower) and do a VLCD so you have to go onto 810 but there is no reason why you should NEED to do this earlier than that!
I'm 5lbs off my healthy BMI and i'm doing SS until i get there becuase i'm comfortable with it.

I think you need to look at WHY your worried about eating food again and this is a bigger and more worrying issue hun. you have to eat on this diet eventually....its a sign that your successful!!! :D

Hope that helps?

jaybee.. I'm afraid Lizz is right.. it feels scarey introducing food again, but it will have to happen at some stage.. and if you're going to re-introduce it at some point, it's better not doing that suddenly when you hit goal, cause you'll still be loosing weight when you first reintroduce food anyway.. and VLCDs aren't designed for people in a healthy BMI of 25 or lower...

so.. remember.. everyone gets scared about this stage - you see it on here all the time... come here for love and support.. talk with your CDC.. look at the maintaining section, and:

I suspect the real work starts when we realise that we are looking at making changes that we can enjoy and find easy enough to stick with for the rest of our lives.. and that's a challenge which is scarey for anyone who's used food as a comfort/escape/protection/defence etc.. but we can do this.. together.. we're all in the same boat here :)

All the very very best to you xx
