Advice on going out and no.2's

OK not at the same time because that would just be weird but didn't want to start 2 threads.
I want to start a VLCD, but in 2 weeks I need to eat out with work 2 days in a row I can't have a shake/bar/soup as I will be around clients. Would I be better to wait till these events are out of the way to start, how much damage can 2 meals do?
Secondly this one is more of a curious thing - how does a VLCD effect the bathroom event politely labelled no. 2 with your diet mostly being water based?

Thanks in advance :p

Hi.

Going on my experience of a VLCD - two meals will completely break the diet, particularly if you have anything carby, but other people can get away with it. It just depends on the individual - something as innocent as a diet coke can knock you right out of ketosis.

Perhaps you could start gradually reducing your cal/carb intake over the next couple of weeks until the meals are out of the way. Then start on the VLCD. I've delayed getting back on my VLCD due to family events but tonight is the last supper and im back on the wagon tomorrow (getting set for the first few torterous days!).

Once you are on it, make sure you dont find yourself looking for excuses to come off the diet for a family event, birthday etc etc. Instead, look for excuses as to why you can't eat at these events. I found myself straying a lot - you need to stick to it 100% - otherwise you may as well use your money as loo roll - which coincidentally brings me on to the next subject:

As for the #2 issue - it still happens, just not very often. Most VLCDs involve some solid food in the form of the bars. Keep drinking water or you will get constipated. And the more you drink, the more you shrink, so keep hydrated.

Hope im not teaching you to suck eggs - the forum wont let me see your previous posts so not sure what diet you been on previously. But good luck!

Thanks that was very helpful, I have done plenty of diets before (total yo-yoer) I am hoping that a break from actual food will kick start my brain to not use food as anything other than fuel!
