Why don't some people get knocked out of Ketosis?

Does anyone know the scientific bit (and the annoyingly sickly reasons) why someone doesn't get knocked out of ketosis easily (or not so easily)

Have a friend following cd. She has lost a couple of stone so know she is doing it. We have even tested for ketosis together, so i know she isn't doing something else!

Anyway.. Last night she came over - eating KFC!!! Of course I try and encourage her not too, but at the end of the day, its her choice. Anyway, SHe didn't come out of ketosis.. she tested straight after eating, and hour, two hours and again late last night and this morning and she is still in the pink!! WTF!!!!

I know I don't want to be her, as it doesn't encourage healthy eating etc, but I just want to know how come!!?
 
I know what you mean, I had some choccy on Sunday and I was still in Ketosis Monday but I had to pay for the hunger pangs late Monday and most of yesterday, coz even though you are pink, you have replenished glycogen stores and that is what you have to burn off first and wow don't those pangs hit you sideways, one minute you are fine and the next Ow!!!!

But you are the one that is doing the best and look at the weight loss you have had so far that is brilliant. At the end of the day she will only sabotage her goal and you will get there quicker.

Don't blame you for feeling the way you do, when your ssing it's bloomin hard and if you don't mind me saying so, she was rubbing your nose in it a lil.

Thing is we can ALL go and have a KFC if we want to(but not necessaril stay in ketosis) but the thing is it will only leave us craving more!!

hiya, ketones are released when fat is consumed OR burned, ketostix have no way of knowing where the fat has come from ,the ketones in her urine would have come from the kfc, not from being in ketosis and burning her own fat, if you eat carbs you cannot be in ketosis, if you feel hungry after eating you are no longer in ketosis, there is no way you could eat kfc on vlcd and still be in ketosis, its not possible, so she is not as lucky as you think!!, you are doing the right thing not following her example!!
