How can I get back on track?

I am on week six now. Week one I lost 6lbs, week two I lost 1 1/2lbs, then it just went downhill. I fell off the wagon big style. Week three I maintained (which I was so pleased about, as I felt as though I'd put half a stone on!) Week four I put 1 1/2lbs back on  and then last week I maintained again. I'm off to class in a couple of hours and am dreading it. I'll be happy to have maintained again tbh.

The thing is I just can't seem to get back on the plan. I seem to be stuck in a rut of thinking "oh it's only Friday, I'll have this." Then there's stuff going on at the weekend, and then I have to fight all week till Thursday to maintain. Argh!! Why am I doing this? I've done SW before a few years ago. I stuck to it 100% and lost 3lbs every week! So I know it can be done. I just need to find the oomph from somewhere. I'm desperate to lose weight as I'm soooo overweight. I know it's only me who can do it, but any tips lovely people?:D

Big hugs to you. All is not lost. Have you completed an SOS log and see if you can determine where your weaknesses lie. Perhaps your mindset has to change. Instead of telling yourself you are desperate to loose weight tell yourself you WILL lose weight. On the days you are positive and kept to plan, reward yourself with a non food item. Even use a star chart like kids do because we know how pleased we are when we get stickers in class so do one at home too. Tell your self every few hours that you are worth more than this and soon you may start believing it. xx

I can highly recommend this site for keeping you on track, I nearly had a blow out yesterday but posted here and for the first time in my life didnt turn to food and binge cos i was down!

Right Hun. I could either do the "there there" pat on back, or give you some tough love....I chose tough love!
Do you want to be over weight?? Are you happy as you are? Do you want to spend the rest of your life thinking that you cant achieve things because of your size? If the answers are no, then only you can change them.
We are here to give you masses of support and advice (myself included), but you have to want to make a difference.
I understand that things are difficult at the weekend. I have those struggles too, but I have learned to find other things to occupy my time.
You have to find a way of saying no to temptation. Remember the first time you stood on the scales after a week?? Keep that feeling and think that you could have that more often, but you can only achieve it.
Keep a diary on here...believe me it helps. Follow the recipes, if something is worrying you etc share with us.
Im sorry to go on, but you know all the answers already Hun. I wish I could wave a magic wand and make us all achieve our goals, but unfortunately we all have to work at them.

Take care

I always ask myself "Do I really want cake? or do I want size 12 pants?"

Cake ALWAYS gets put back when i think about it!

Well Mrs V said it all really! If you always do what you've always done then you'll be here in another couple of years at the same (or probably even more) weight. You can obviously do it for a week! You did 2 in a row! So, go back to filling a food diary in, read your book again, and make a pact with yourself to do it "just for this week". It's like AA, you can't do it half heartedly , it won't work! How important to you is losing weight? Is this the right time? Which plan are you doing? Have you planned your syns? It's all in the planning really, you can have your treats on a friday and saturday, but only within your syns. Think back to where you did it 100%, HOW did you do it that time? WHAT did you do to avoid temptation? It will work again, but it takes planning and determination. Only you can do that, but we're here to support you as you do it! Come on! You know you CAN do it!

If you really want to get back on track just draw a line under the last couple of weeks reread your books and get on here as it's so inspirational. I had lost track for a couple of weeks and put on 3 pounds I decided to get back on track made sure I was eating plenty of free food, using my hexs and syns and I lost 6.5 pounds this week. Hope this helps and good luck - you can do it!
