Hello peeps

I find myself about a stone heavier than this time last year, and have very recently quit smoking as well - so to stop myself ballooning any further, it's time to take action really.

I'm not starting till a week on Monday (for reasons which I won't bore you with!), but have decided to do the Tom Venuto programme (Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle). It's hard work, but apparently works very well - and will force me back into the gym, which I used to enjoy until I lapsed a few years ago!

Goals:
Total weight loss 25 lbs
Weight loss by christmas 15 lbs
... and to get back to bench pressing half my bodyweight!

And can I just say, the success story forum on here is very impressive - I hope some of that will rub off on me!

Good luck Mazzz, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. You'll be a fitness instructor before you know it! :)

BBS - I sure am going to feel the burn, especially the day after my first weights workout in years... ouch!

Ness- you might be being a *little* bit optimistic :)

IreneH - thank you, pleased to be here :)

Hey, well done on taking action, you'll be fine :D

You are actually pretty lucky because you are aiming to loose less than 2 stone altogether which (seeing as you've gained weight recently) looks like it would put you close to your natural healthy weight so it should be easy to keep off.

In the meantime, like I say to everybody, run, run and run some more. I've never known anyone to take up running/jogging and not be enjoying the hell out of it by their 3rd workout :D

oddly enough I was thinking yesterday about starting running!
I admit it's something I'm not sure I'll enjoy, but, well, it's free! Apart from the cost of the shoes and sports bra lol
