Week 5 and struggling

Hi all,
Half way through week 5 on LLL and finding it a bit of a struggle at the moment. I'm feeling hungry quite a few times during the day.

I'm just wondering if I can ever be in full ketosis on LLL as I'd imagine I would be eating some carbs every day in my one meal??

Also I feel that the CBT/TA stuff can be a bit superficial. It also turns out that my counsellor was anorexic . (I was under the impression that they had to have been through the LL or LLL programmes?)

Sorry for the rant on my first post..! I'm normally a very positive person :D and am loving the fact that my shape is finally changing, especially around my tummy!

:)

Maybe your LLC had an eating disorder before LL/Lite... And it would be a little harsh to judge her on those grounds, because sometimes an LLC may have very well been morbidly obese previously - yet why is that seen as 'better' than having had anorexia? Both are equally as dangerous as each other.

The CBT/TA - yes, it is a little bit superficial, but it is aimed at a mass market, and uses a lot of generalisations. You can't expect the diet programme to do all the work for you - the main counselling and coming to terms with your own relationship with food has to come from YOU!

I found that first month of Lite was easy. The second I began to struggle and started to eat too many vegetables because I was stuck in a bit of a loop which you are describing now... But then I realised - that I am not helping myself. I still had some weight to lose and using even the 'healthy' food as a crutch wasn't working. I sat down and gave myself a good talking to. Then I really started learning how much I really honestly need, and how to manage food intake on a more practical basis.

The tools which they give you at meetings are supposed to be used by yourself. You have to put them into practice, and REALLY evaluate what you want in life. This diet is not a short-term solution. It's not a quick-fix. It is supposed to give you the means to keep going for the rest of your life.

And by all means - Concentrate on the positives! You are loving the changes which you are actually feeling in your body! I hope you are becoming much more confident in yourself too. It's a great feeling, isn't it? The next step is to get that satisfaction from getting control over your eating and knowing what you truly NEED rathen than WANT (that rebellious child inside can scream so loudly sometimes! ;) ).

This is the crucial stage of the dieting progress - the step when you either choose to really evaluate yourself (which is going to be quite scary!) or run away and hide.

The choice is yours! But, whatever you decide - we're here to help.
