Gaining weight?

I'm really confused. Been on SF for 2 weeks now and weighed myself this morning and I have actually gained weight. I can't really understand how that could happen considering I've been eating so little. I've stuck to around 1100 cals per day (sometimes more sometimes less depending what I'm doing) but haven't done a great deal of exercise.
I don't think I could have built muscle but I apparently look slimmer.
I know that weight naturally fluctuates throughout the day but it seems crazy to gain 6lb just by weighing myself later than usual (I hadn't actually eaten anything when I weighed myself as well).
I'm very very confused by it all, part of me feels like I'm never going to lose weight!

Yes our weight does fluctuate during the day, mainly due to water retention. Best thing to do is pick a day of the week to weigh on and weigh first thing in the morning on that day, stick to that day and don't weigh at any other time. Then you will get a good idea of what you are losing each week. Don't get too hung up by the scales, I know it can be hard when we want to check how we're doing. Also make sure you're eating at least 1200 cals a day, any less and you risk going into starvation mode and your body will just cling onto everything instead of burning it off. Also make sure you're drinking plenty of water, this really does help get your metabolism going, get your kidneys and liver working properly and get the fat burning!

How many meals are you eating through the day? By eating your allowed snacks and not just sticking to three meals will help your metabolism burn more.

Good luck x

Yeah I do weigh myself first thing on a Sunday and drink loads of water so its a bit weird. I will try to eat the snacks, just discovered chewee bars which are really nice so I'm going to try and eat more of them. I think my main problem is my meal never has over 500 cals including a dessert, I'll have to work on that.

Really don't know then, if you're doing all the right things I just suggest to stick at it and the results should show. I mean if you are burning more cals then you are taking in you have to lose weight, could take time but those scales will move. Stick at it a couple of weeks more and then maybe if you're still not getting the results you want then you could think about changing onto another diet? After all we're all different and different diets suit different people, it's just finding the one that suits you that's the hard bit!

Yes I love the cheweee bars! Always have a stock of those in :D Tend just to get the white choc chip ones tho as they are lush! Also like the weetabix oaty bars, milk or white choc, and only 67 cals each!!

I've been keeping a diary and looking at it I've had a few days this week where I've had less than 1000 cals so I think that might be the problem. I do tend to take things to extremes though, once I'm being strict I find it easy to stick to. I'll just have to make an effort to get those snacks in I think. People have commented that I look slimmer so thats a plus. I'll see how it goes.

Also I bought a box of the white choc chewees and they are gorgeous!

Yes make sure you get those snacks in! Glad you are also a fan of the white choc ones ;) I first discovered them when I was pregnant with my eldest son, the milk choc chip ones at first tho. I had a box of them in my labour bag on all three of my kids, although hubby ate more of them than I did lol! Although they were handy for after stuck in hospital!! Been a fan ever since! Oh Tesco have them on special again for £1 a box, they always seem to be on special somewhere at the mo :D

yep half price at morrisons!

omg I feel like a right idiot. Didn't want to get too hung up on what the scales say but I decided to weigh myself this morning because I figured 'what if having a lie in had had an effect?' Got the scales out and put them on the tiles, guess what! Lost 4lb.
Then decided to do a little test and put the scales on the rug (which I'd done yesterday morning) and OMG suddenly in the space of 10secs I'd put on over a stone and a half!
Obviously from now on will be using them only on a nice hard surface like the tiled floor.

Yes always use a hard floor! Scales don't work on carpet!! Well done on your loss :)
