Cous Cous

Hey all!

I bought Ainsley Harriot's cous cous with my weekly shopping today. Roughly 2pts each (depending on which kind it is). I know you can have it with salads, chicken dishes etc.

Just really looking for some ideas from you all as to what is best to have it with? Are there any cous cous eaters out there? lol :D

Thanks. Kirsty xx

I have it with veggie kebabs (being a vegetarian) so I suppose any kebabs would be good
I also have it with roasted veg
tonight my daughter had it with lamb and roasted veg - dont know what else she has with it
I often have it cold and add in cold veggies to make a couscous salad

hope some of those ideas will help

Mmm yummy so what kinda salads could you make for lunch? just plain salad - lettuce, cucumber, tomato etc with some cous cous. Could I add anything else to it?xx

Hiya i usually dry fry sliced chix breast with a load of veg like peppers, mushrooms, onion, courgette, bns, add some chilli flakes and add a prepd pkt of the spicy ainsley harriot cous cous to it at the last minute..its gorgess and very filling.

I also like it warmish with a tin of tuna added to it and some s/corn..:)

hmm sounds really good! Will try the first recipe I usually make dishes like this but have rice or pasta with it so could substitute for cous cous and will be lower points as well! good stuff! :D:D

I was thinking about trying a tuna salad tomorrow with the cous cous but wasn't sure if it would go or not??

BNS chips? lol xx

soz hun butternut sqush chips :) a recent obsession of mine thanks to the forum! Just peel a BNS, chop it, fling on a baking tray with a wee spray of frylight, chuck in a hot oven for about an hour till nice and crispy and tada! A very tasty snack, zero points and at least 1 of your 5 a day! ;) xx

Oh sounds really good, I've never had butternut squash before lol. What does it taste like? xx

I just tried it for the first time last week, lol an absolute workout to peel and chop though and I discovered there are seeds in it! lol Its quite difficult to describe the taste, sort of like potato, but a bit sweetish (so poss like sweet potato, never tried that lol) i seasoned with salt and pepper and had roasted onion and peppers with mine, i know a lot of people use them instead of roast potato or chips, and salad cream seems to be a popular accompanyment lol x
