Curry

skinnyminnycow

Half a pound at a time.
Going food shopping, and want to buy ingredients for a curry this week - you know when you just really fancy something.....?

Anywhoo, whats your favourite SW curry to make? And where can i find the recipe!! :D

Muchos Thanks

I just kinda make it up!
I fry onions, garlic, chilli, ginger until soft and then add either tandoori powder or garam masala (depending on what I fancy). Dry fry the spices for a minute of two with the veg and then whatever meat you are using. continue to cook for 5 mins or so until the meat is browned and then add a tin of tomatoes, a tsp of sweetener and simmer until meat is cooked.

Add natural yoghurt or fromage frais if desired at the end and finish with a sprikle of freshly chopped coriander.

PS there's a lovely chicken dopiaza recipe in the recipe thread if you like that too.

Ive got the 100 green recipes book & there's one in there, its called a madras but gives the option to use korma powder (as I dont like things too spicy). Its a veggie recipe so uses quorn but Ive made it twice & the guests just loved it, very creamy sauce.

I like the quick and very easy mushy pea curry (free on Green or EE day).
Fry an onion in frylight until really soft. Add curry powder to taste and mix.
Blend a can of tomatoes with a can of mushy peas and add to the onion/curry mix...cook out for 20 mins so that the powder isnt bitty.
You could add an allowance of chicken on Green day (or add quorn pieces - although I didnt like it), or chicken on an EE day would be free too.
I serve mine with syn free chips and rice..yummy

I made Spicy Persian Chicken (recipe in the recipe thread) at the weekend and it was really nice and spicy and just as nice as a curry, and it's Free on a Red day too.

I make the syn free chicken curry from the recipe thread, it is great, my whole family love it too.
