Do you have a pattern to your weightloss?

Ive been doing SW just over 5 months & last week I got my 1 & a half stone award. Last night I weighed & I'd gained 1lb for no reason. Im always as good as gold & I told my consultant that every time I lose I then gain the next week & she said it may just be the pattern to my body which means I can't really do anything about it.

Does anyone find they have a pattern to losing/gaining? Either like mine or lose most weeks then have a hitch for no reason etc etc?

hi their lisac,
personally i dont hsve a pattern to my weight loss it just varies but my friend has a pattern that is so much like yours no matter wot she does to try n change it, she will gain 1lb, the weeks after loose 3lbs, then maintain-its pretty much nature for her now but gets her so down in the dumps-but peoples body adjust to the diet differently so basically dont get upset about it hun- the up side is my friends lost 4stone, good luck on yr journey and dont get dishartened

Apparently it is virtually impossible to loose more than 1lb of actual fat a week, anything over and above this is water or muscle loss, so I would suggest that its probably water retention, but the main thing is that your going in the right direction overall.

Yes! I have a pattern.

It generally goes: Large loss, sts, small loss, gain and then repeats. This happens when Im on plan 100%, I have resigned myself to it happening and expect it now. It was horrible when it first started happening, as I was loosing weight to get married...I would stand on the scales and she would say "you've had a little gain this week"...I would break my heart!
Now, no pressure, I deal with it. The weight will come off, and you will see an average weight loss each week, so dont panic!

A friend said to me at class last night could it be fluid but (as silly as this sounds) how can you tell?? I don't have swollen ankles...

LisaC as daft as this might sound drinking more water will help your weight loss, it flushes out all the anti-toxins etc in your system and at the same time flushes out any excess water you may be carrying too, so make sure that you drink plenty of water while you are following the diet.

I don't have a diet pattern really as I am a '1lb a week plodder' usually, but I do have the occassional bigger loss, but if you only lose a 1lb a week that's around 4 stones in a year, so keep to the diet and don't be tempted to 'binge' and you will get there.

Good luck for your WI next week, and chin up you will lose.....X

I feel your pain misses! I don't know what the hell is going on with my body at the moment! It was all going so well until i went on an exercise hyper binge.

I'm sure you'll lose it next week. Do you feel any thinner though? I've only lost a pound this week after an inexplicable 2.5lb gain, but i do feel thinner - go figure.

Isn't it just so annoying??!!

The weight has gone mainly from my waist so I feel like all my jeans/trousers are slowly making their way down!! But my legs aren't any slimmer. Im going to start exercising this week & hopefully tone & that should help. Although sounds like exercising didn't help you??!

It's very annoying especially when you've been so good all week. Makes you feel like screaming

The thing with losing weight is that sometimes inches come off of specific places first - I've lost inches most places except for my waist.

The exercise did help me to lose a few inches but I ended up gaining 2.5lbs that week - which i'm still gutted about - hence the moaning. I think the problem with me is that I did too much too fast - i'm kind of an all or nothing gall - i was doing 1.5 hours of cardio and weights for 3-4 days after doing little exercise. This may of shocked my system, but i would of thought that i would be back to normal by now.

Someone else had said to me to measure rather than go by weight all the time but as odd as this sounds I never know quite where to measure i.e. the thinnest part of your waist or lower towards your hips....They also says about fat turning into muscle etc so that could be why you gained, saying that Ive read it weighs the same & others say muscle weighs more so Im not really sure there.

My waist is the one place I dont need to lose from & (typically) its the first place its gone from so I want to exercise so I can pin point areas to tone up :)
