Laptops on planes ?

Does anyone know the reg re taking a laptop on a plane ??:wavey:

I have to go to Rome for a few days in April and need to take it with me. Do I pack it in my suitcase or take it on board ?

Never took it away before so dont know whats best way.

Take it with you as hand luggage

I normally carry mine on as hand luggage. You have to take it out of your bag for the scanner, but other than that it should be fine

to help security officers - i would carry it -

i worked in an airport and all the trouble we are getting we have to check evrything incudling metal toe cap shoes and ask them to take them off -

i would say to save time (even thou you could get your bag looked in anyway) but if there a laptop they intend to take awhile looking at it and also try to search your bag !

As you know with all the trouble we had then we need to be very carefull! have a great time x
