Passata is free and you get get some that is flavoured with herbs - basil etc and its really nice!

passata, is that the 'creamed toms'.. as my OH's sister described it, said it had a better texture than just tinned toms? xxxx

Yeah passata is just really smooth tomatoes, sieved I think. You can get it in any supermarket and it'll either be in a jar or a carton. It makes a good pasta sauce too.

I bought a Tesco Pizza base mix (makes 2 pizza's), anyway synned them up & each base was 10 1/2 syns which I didn't think was too bad, for the tomato sauce I used Passata with some italian herbs mixed in (mixed them in myself), for the topping we had Mozzarella, cooked ham, cooked chicken then I cut up some basil leaves & also halved some cherry toms, it was really nice & each pizza was plenty for two people

I'd use tinned tomatoes, the ones with onions and herbs in but spoon them out with a slotted spoon so you get tomatoes and a bit of sauce but not too much (iykwim).

It depends if you like lumps of tomatoes (which I do), If not then I'd go with the others ^^ and spread passata over the base.

Enjoy it Fern.xx

i use potatoes to make a base, which is then free, and tomatoe puree is only i think half a syn(not quite sure)

I use a wholemeal bun as a base.

Fry some onions. peppers mushrooms etc till soft chuck in a tin of chopped tomatoes, reduce till thick and yummy.
