Cheshire info please

I am doing my family tree and my dad's family came from Cheshire many years ago.

As I've never been to Cheshire I'm a bit lost with the places. Both Wharton and Winsford are mentioned. Can anyone tell me anything about them? Are they near each other? Is one bigger than the other etc

I only know bits about Cheshire, though I lived there for a year, but I do believe that Wharton is part of Winsford (the part with the station in it).

have you tried google maps? just type the place names in and you should be able to find them straight away. I used to live in Merseyside so heres what I know about cheshire - its a very long county that spans from the wirral (between Liverpool and N. Wales) and Yorkshire so under manchester and above Derbyshire and Staffordshire. My geography isn't that great I'm afraid!
