Im drinking 6 ltr's, and yet still thirsty, is this ok, im on day 3 .... can you drink this or should i cut down to the 3 ltr's it says ???

The maximum you aere meant to drink on LT is 4/4.5litres.

If you are still thirsty after 6 litres there may be other reasons - you should address this with your pharmacist/GP and Lipotrim too.

Another poster was told by drinking more than the recommended maximum she may be flushing out the goodness that the shakes/soups/flapjacks provide, in which case weight loss could have been affected.

So, I'd say try and cut down and talk to LT/pharmacy/GP. Don't want to cause alarm but a raging thirst CAN (not saying definitely is!!) be an indication that something is not all well.

Oh, ok thankyou Elle-Emm, i will cut down to 4 ltr's, and see how i go, wasn't sure if i was drinking because i was hungry, and replacing it with water, thankyou x

yeah 4 lts is the maximum, how you drinking gradually over the day or most in one go?

I know that the max on LT is 4 litres, but when I was on LL a while ago our counsellor tried to get us all up to 6 litres, which I did & I don't think it negatively impacted my weight loss. Also, she had this theory that once you got to 6 litres you actually wanted to drink it which you didn't at 4 litres. She might have just been mad, mind ;-) But, I'm not sure it's really all that much to be concerned about.

I'm gonna echo ElleEmm and say check it out asap. If it's hunger-thirst then yu can deal with that but if it's actual thirst thirst, you def need checked. I'm by no stretch of the imagination an expert, and don't mean to scare monger at all, but insatiable thirst is a symptom of Diabetes which, with the whole Ketosis buzz, is something you'd really want to keep an eye on.

GOOD LUCK!! :D

Blackrose I know all about diabetes, my son has been type one for 6yrs, we are all tested often, so i know its not that, im quiet active, so im thinking its prob the reason for being thirsty.. thankyou for your comments x

Hi,

Im not sure how you manage 6 litres, I can barly manage 1 most days. Running round after my son and never seem to get a chance.

Does anyone know what effects I will get from not drinking enough?

You may get more 'hunger pangs' from drinking less. It might also affect your weight loss as your body may convince itself you are in starvation mode due to your stomach being less full. I havent drank less than 2l a day in at least 5 years... last time I did ww. It has become a habit, most people are/were amazed if I drank anything other than water or black coffee even pre-lt!!

Ah, well that's a relief then. As I say I'm not an expert but I just grew up with my mum (type one also :() and she was, and is, always on the alert for things like crazy thirst with us, so I thought it would be wise to share. Just in case..But you'll be well on the alert with your son already so... Poor wee dote.

Good good. :D

I also think if you are doing lots of exercise you are maybe sweating it out hence the reason why you are so thirsty...I usually stick to max 4ltrs but when I have gone for a walk for 3 hrs drank around that in the time and never once needed the loo, so it could be that you are so active that you drink more.

See how you go, but I would just drop to 4 for the time being and then see how it goes from there and when you next go to the pharmacy ask them about it.
