Tips to boost losses... and pharmacy changed..

GO GO GO !!
Hello,

Just wondered if anyone out there had any inspirational tips to boost my/our losses.:flirt2::whacky068:

I'm not the most active of people - sit at a desk in between nipping to my very own cubicle in the ladies - thats about it. I have 2 small kids but i only see then after 6pm for 1 or 2 hours.

In addition - my newly found motivation is due to my changing pharmacy. I used to go to one which literally did my WI and handed me a bag and that was it. I have now changed chemist - because the old pharmacist kept saying - well, a small loss is better than nothing... ooh, you're not losing as much as others... etc etc. Not motivating at all.

Since changing, my new pharmacist has given me a target weight, free samples of fibreclear, a little card with weekly tracking information and the DVD to watch. And 4 ketosis sticks per week. What a difference it has made to my attitude - I can't believe it.

Come on... bring on the weight loss !! :D:cross:

HI CAREN,
my pharmasists a bit like ur old one, she`s even told me not to bother doing any excersise because it wont help the weight loss..
Iv only had small weight losses too last week was only 2lb :( and iv stuck to it religiously nothing has past my lips apart from the shakes and water and the odd peppermint tea. she had no explanation 4 this whatsoever (i think she thinks im cheating but not saying anything yet).. although after 3 weeks i have lost a stone...
My friend that was on it said she did aerobics and was told the same thing asme that it wouldnt help,, but she said she wanted to do it 4 herself,, which i think is the right frame of mind.. good luck on ur future weight loss and well done 4 so far xxxx

hi Caren,

glad you have found a better pharmacy. best tips i could recommend are experiementing with the water, trying to drink more, then trying to drink less (always over 2litres of course) and seeing what works best for you. i loose best at 3 litres a day.

other tip is change the times you have your shakes. move then all an hour earlier, then next week back to normal, then next week hour later, then back to hour earlier than normal etc. it gives your metabolism a shove apparently.

other than that do all sorts to monitor your losses, measurements, get yourself a fancy spreadsheet etc

also experiment with exercise, try some toning stuff, resistance and yoga/pilates etc then try some aerobic stuff and see what works best.

we're all different on here so you just need to work out your best way.

good luck hun!!

Well, mine came out and more or less said that there was no point in continuing as the only way I wasn't losing like I 'should' be is because I wasn't drinking enough (he knew I was, plus this was the opposite of what LT had told me!) or that I was eating. And he wasn't subtle about which he thought was the problem!! I was 9lbs from goal and he would only let me get maintenence products from that week on!!
Since then I'm on wk4 maintaining and 6lbs from goal without 'trying' to lose weight (just keep off what I've lost iykwim?) so yah boo sucks to him!! LOL!
The other assistant I used to have was 150% nicer- she was so encouraging when I had cr*p losses, and even rang LT in front of me a few times when I had queries.
Support makes ALL the difference!

abetterme - some pharmacists are cr@p. thank you for your support as always it is a great help.

Irishmum - your perseverance is amazing - congratulations on your losses and being (almost) at goal. Its true - support is everything.

Sarahlou - i will vary the times of my shakes (although I know i have my last two a bit too close together some days). I usually have 4.5 ltrs a day - and am still thirsty - not sure I could drop much below that. I'm working from home today - so done a bit on my wii fit and i'm going to walk to collect my kids from childminder at 6pm.

I'm tempted on the vibroplate for toning and inch loss - not sure whether i can justify it though !!

My pharmacy is pretty crap too. Just weigh me and sell the shakes but hey hoo there you go!! I was a little shocked at their attitude the first time round especially as I was a slow loser and they were convinced I 'cheated' but I didn't and told them so but you could see the doubt on their faces. Anyway, this time I just not going to let it bother me. And this site is so great for encouragement who needs their encouragement! Opps, I do need their shakes though!!!

Try some light exercise like toning weights, they made all the difference for me. I also did swimming once a week. I know we're not supposed to go mad with the exercise but my pharmacist said as long as you listened to your body and took it easy to begin with, it will help with the loss and especially the toning.

My average weekly loss throughout was 4lbs, so it definitely worked for me!

Not really got anything to add - I think experimenting with the amount of water you have might make a difference.

My pharmacist is absolutely awful, doesn't even weigh me or remember who I am! Doesn't bother me too much though. Glad you've found one who's more inspirational!

Good luck for your next week!

Hannah
