Does anyone know if caffeine aids the weight loss on cd?? There are some widely taken tablets available from gyms that are herbal and contain caffeine to help with weight loss. I know they work in normal circumstances as my hubbies a bodybuilder and its something a lot of them take, just wondering if they would be of use with cd??

Hi Sarah.....just bumping this up for ya hun ! ;)

Hi SarahP,

I am not sure if it helps or hinders to be honest. You are 120Ibs overweight though. Caffeine can speed up your heart rate - why would you want to do something like that when you are substantially overweight and your heart is under enough strain as it is?

Stick to the diet and the results will be amazing ...... I'm thinking of the likes of D_Q and FatFar'n'Forty(ish) when I say this. They've stuck to it and have done really well; no quick fixes just gritted teeth.

caffeine is a diuretic which is why they don't count coffee in your fluid allowance, so i am thinking that probably the answer is - no don't use it with CD.
i'm sure someone properly qualified with the answer will be along soon
xx:)

I have taken then before alongside weightwatchers for the added benefit so I know they do not cause me or anyone else heart problems as stated they are purely a herbal remedy and of no danger. Im just curious if with the low calorie diets they would be of benefit. I am overweight but I also know most of the diets and supplements inside out it is purely will power which I have an issue with.

Thanks Pandora for the informed answer that is what I was after. Sarahxx.

Sorry if my post offended you.

Again, it would seem my post offended you - hence the veiled stab at me. That's fine. :) Seriously I don't know much about dietary supplements, what I know from experience is that caffeine is a stimulant, hence my concerns. Being over 7 stones overwight and asking about caffeine as a suppllement to aid weight loss concerned me.
There are lots of natural things out there in the world, it doesn't make them all good and Ok to take. All I was suggesting is that you address your will-power issue as that has longevity and that is what will see you through in years to come.

Anyway good luck with your journey. We can both do it.

:)
