Coping with the Hair Loss

:(Morning:(

Has anyone gone for the chop in order to 'thicken' the appearance of their hair??

I was always proud of my really thick, shiny hair - but unfortunately months on CD has left me very dry and thinning. So much hair comes out every day. Im unblocking the shower drain every day and im sure i could make a full wig weekly with what i lose. :p

My hair is just past my shoulders at the minute and wondering if i got it cut into a jaw length graduated bob, would it make it look fuller???

Just wondering if anyone has found cutting a benefit!

Hi Anni!

I had this same issue. The good news.. IT Comes Back :)

My tricks were:
Regular trims
Volumizing spray on the roots
Blow drying with my head facing down.

i had the chop. it still feels dry but i dye it every month, but since i had the couple of weeks on 810 it has stopped falling out so much. cant wait for it to come back all thick again, i used to say my hair was my ''thing'' the one thing i liked about myself!

I started loosing hair almost immediately. So I've had my hair chopped into a jaw length bob. And I've stopped having it coloured. It has helped make it look thicker, and it's much easier to look after. And I can always ignore the grey.;) If I loose too much I'll be going for a very short crop.
But it will grow back, and I'd rather have thin hair for a while than go back to being fat.

My hair is medium-length and wavy, and I didn't notice it was thinning until my hairdresser told me. After that it started coming out in brushfuls! The last time I went to the hairdressers, I didn't want any length off, so he layered it all the way up. I'd booked to have my roots done, so they did them in a slightly lighter colour than usual, which makes the scalp visibility less obvious. I had it dried in a curly style, and to be honest, you wouldn't know it was any different.

These are the other things I've doing:-

  • Take "Hair-Vit" tablets (or other B vitamins)
  • Take Silica tablets (from H+B) - recommended by CDC
  • Use Rejuvx hair treatment - it really works and has been recommended elsewhere on here. (Dear, but cheapest place to get it - Hair loss: Rejuvx for Hair Loss - hopefully I'll only need the one treatment!)
Because of the hair loss, I've now gone onto maintenance, to give it a chance to grow back. Fingers crossed! :cross:

I got mines bobbed this week actually and it does make it look thicker.

cutting it helped me but unfortunately its taken two years to get back to how it used to be and the weight also went back on so I'm back on the diet. I have stopped getting it layered so it doesn't look so taily!
