How do I beat (or at least control!) my chocolate demon?!

IrishMum

A little of everything!
Okay, it's the week before my totm and all I want is chocolate. I'm trying to do damage control by sucking frozen buttons :)sigh:) slowly and one at a time (big progress! LOL!)?
Help!!!:wave_cry:

Well you're about as much use as a chocolate teapot aren't you! :)p;):D)
You're right though....it's a bloody minefield! :sigh::)

lol sorry irish :( i wish i did have a magic answer, i'd be rich! sell the solution to everyone who wants to beat the choc cravings!! :giggle:

Did you ever see those 'craving' sprays that used to be the diet craze- there was a chocolate one that you sprayed on your wrist & sniffed when you got a craving- it was supposed to satisfy it!!! PMSL!! Would you ever?!?! That'd make me 10 times worse!!

LOL really?!!!!!!! who thinks of those things?!!

Mind you, when on TFR i used to sniff things all the time when i had a craving and it never bothered me but now  lol

i think you are trying to handle it the right way, dont deny yourself or you will go on a binge, just have a little chocolate, dont go and buy a big bar!!!

Well I've heard of a lot of things Irish - but sucking buttons???? How do you fasten your cardis if you've sucked all the buttons off?? ;) :)

My Son-in-law reckons that one square of 'proper' chocolate - the 70% stuff, deals with the chocolate cravings but is so bitter that it doesn't make you want more ..... I don't know but for those of you 'suffering' I'd imagine it must be worth a try ...... ?? xx

One of the things I like to do when I have cravings is to suck slowly on a medjula (sp) date. You buy them in the supermarket, but not the cheappo dates, there are only about 8-10 in a pack. I freeze them, then when I feel like something sweet I suck on a frozen date - it just feels like toffee. Really nice, especially with a cup of options chocolate drink.

LOL @ Jan!! The kids are fed up with me robbing their funsize treats (including their chocolate buttons!), chopping them up & freezing them! Then using them to ease my choc cravings! I only get them bad around my totm.
I blame my 'baby' (now 2!), I hadn't a sweet tooth at all before I got pregnant with her. I could've demolished 6 bags of crisps a day, but wouldn't have thanked you for chocolate! Funny isn't it? At one stage during my preg I was eating 2 yorkies a day!! I 'only' gained 2 1/2stone though? Guess she needed whatever was in it! LOL!
I've heard about the one square remedy, but I'd be afraid if I had a big bar in the house I'd keep going back over & over until it was gone!!

Would you really go back over & over for that bitter stuff? YUCK!! S-I-L can't stand it but it does deal with the cravings apparently - personally I'd rather suck an old sock ;) xx

Sure after buttons old socks would be a tasty treat! :p;)

No!! no buttons! bad!:whoopass:

Now....LT is giving you all the vits and minerals along with carbs, protein, fat etc etc that you need.

So..this craving...is exactly that. It's a mental thing. It's not that your body needs something...it's your head!

Think it through.....why are you eating chocolate? really?

I'm maintaining now (or at least trying to!)- not on TFR?

It's posted in the Lipotrim Maintenence Forum? I wouldn't annoy those who are not eating or re-feeding by teasing them about chocolate in those forums!
I'll update my CP though.

Ahh the dark chocolate thing - ya know i love dark chocolate, prefer over white or milk so that aint guna work for me else i really would go and eat the whole flippin thing!! Best to just not have it in the house?!

Thats what I figured Tanya. Maybe a bag of chocolate chips?...nah...I'd probably demolish that too! LOL! Never mind. In moderation I guess I won't do too much damage!

lol!

Hey irish, do you know you can buy cadbury bars that are only 99calories? They are very thin but they might curb your chocolate craving, and at only 99calories cant go wrong as a little chocolate fix? x
