In group last week a few of the members where going on about a mesh oven tray for cooking chips on. You can buy them from
B & M Bargains for £1.29. I managed to get one and its great. I still sprayed the chips with frylight, then the tray goes straight onto the oven shelf. The chips cooked really crispy and browned all over. (I always par boil and give a good shake in the pan to make them fluffy.

I'll have a look for one of these, we have a B&M nearby and I make SW chips quite often, a good price too. Thanks for the tip!

Oh no i dont have a B&M near me, any other ideas where to get this from. I love SW chips.

Can you put some picture of this mesh oven tray to know how it looks?

I have one of these too - I won mine at the class raffle but she got it from instore - it does the BEST chips honestly, it looks really weird though it is just a mesh tray, one tip though - when you need to get the chips out of the oven I slide a normal baking tray underneath - makes life easier for me.

That sounds brilliant, do you know any other shops that sell it we haven't got that shop here, got a wilkinsons if thats any good.

You can see it on Amazon if you search for Quickachips, multi purpose baking tray. A bit expensive at £4.95. I also bought from B&M a silicone baking loaf pan for £1.99 no greasing etc the scan bran cake was easy to get out after baking. Hope this helps x

On the label is says sit directly on the oven shelf for all round crispness. I thin i will have a green day today with all the chat about SW chips might have an egg and mushy peas too. I'm a dozy beggar just seen the icon for insert image DOH!

When I bought mine the lady on the till said " I dont know what's going on with these trays I've sold at least 10 this morning"
Mine was the last one in the shop. Can't beat £1.29 for a good chip! lol
