Week 1 weigh in - I want to cry :'(((

I apologise now for the whinging post coming up.

As you know I have been doing my first week on the LT along with my sister and we went for our weigh in this afternoon.

My sister did great, She lost 5lbs even though she CHEATED on day 4 and had 2 chicken legs, a couple of chips and 2 chocolate biscuits.

Me? I lost a rubbish 3lbs even though I stuck to the diet religiously 100% and didn`t cheat once!!! :cry:

I am SO upset I could cry :cry:

This is so unfair! Why can`t I lose weight no matter what I do??? :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

If I cheated then fair enough, It would be my own fault. But I didn`t! Not once! Even though my family ate lots of yummy things we don`t usually have this week I was determined not to give in and undo all my hard work. And what what? A rubbish 3lbs!!!

Even the lady I see was surprised and phoned the LT person but I didn`t really get any answers.

I was ready to give up to be honest. Why starve myself if it`s not going to work?

I have decided to give 1 more week a try but if I get rubbish results again I`m not sure I`ll continue tbh.

Yeah 3lbs loss is good generally, But this was my first week when you should lose the most. What will I lose the rest of the time on it? 1lb a week? I was losing that just eating healthily and exercising before I started LT.

Again I`m sorry for ranting on here, I am just so disheartened that no matter what I do I cannot shift the weight.

I`m seriously considering surgery as my next option. Not a band etc as I don`t have any food issues and don`t eat too much/wrong foods. But a TT to get rid of the hideous monstrosoty that is my stomach!

dont panic we all lose differently I only lost 4 pounds the first week, I bet you find you will still average losing a stone a month, on my seventh week I lost 6 pounds, on average I lost 3/4 pounds a week.
 
Oh I really feel for you. BUT, don't give up yet - we all weigh slightly different each day - if you got on her scales tomorrow you may be 6 lb lighter!

Is your TOTM due soon - could be water retention. Don't forget the first weigh in is mainly water loss. If you are anything like me, it's the fat I want to lose!

Were your clothes any heavier than last time? Have you had a lot of water today? Housebrick in your pocket? (Joke!)

For my first CD weigh in I was expecting miracles, having read the forums for ages before starting and seeing everyone's great losses. I was upset when I only lost 5lb, and only slightly placated when I lost a further 4 lb the following week.

Thing is, VLCD's are guaranteed to help you lose weight (providing they're followed properly of course) and there is nothing wrong with losing weight 'slow and steady'.

Please, don't give up - just follow the plan to the letter then snigger next week when your sister cheats and doesn't lose as much as you. Honest, you will lose weight on a VLCD

/hugs to you but please keep trying - one more week at least and you may find that you will have a massive loss next week :)
 
I was just thinking, if you have already been following a healthy diet and not eating so many processed foods, then you were probably carrying very little excess water, which could explain the lower loss.

Does that make sense? :confused:
 
I agree dont give up and maybe you were carrying less water, Does your sister have more to lose than you?? there could be loads of reasons why you didnt lose so much and we all lose different amounts. I think you could possibly lose more next weigh in? Did you do any exercise as well ???
 
I can understand how you feel because if I was in your place i would feel the same. 3lbs is a fair loss and I can understand how first week should have been higher.

When did you go to get weighed, what time was it? did you have your shake in the morning? did you drink water at home before you went. Have you been able to go toilet for no2. These are factors hun.
It may sound silly but has has the pharmacy changed their scales or made some mistake on initial weigh in?

People who dont do so well end up losing in measurements. Next week you could see dauble the amount.
Please give it 1 more week. Some go into ketosis after a week.
 
I feel for you and agree with the others,it will probably come off next week.

You always seem so positve and fun in your threads and I'm sure with your personality you can do this.Keep thinking of your Twilight proms.

I wouldn't wonder too much, it could many other things, i also would not compare your weight to someone else as then every week may/could you feel worse. Any loss is gr8 i say.

I only lost 2lbs on first WI but i did cheat a few times, im just looking forward to the next WI when i hopefully i have lost a bit more.

I totally understand how disappointed you must feel. BUT 3lbs is 3lbs more than you would have lost without doing LT, it's more than you'd lose on many other diets too...

You really must try not to compare yourself to *anyone* else on this diet - even someone with the same start weight, as we are ALL different.

You may well find you have a bigger loss next week. But, if you lose 3lb for every week that you're on LT would that really be terrible? NO, it'd be ruddy marvellous and you'd get to your goal weight a darn sight quicker than most other diets too.

I would strongly urge you NOT to give up so soon... keep doing what you're doing, stick to LT 100% and you WILL achieve your weight loss goals.

You did fab not to give in to the week 1 temptations which as we all know are many and varied!!

Try and look at the big picture and dont compare yourself; we are all different.

Ok so its a tough start, but 3lb is less than what you were last week!!! so better than nothing. everyone is different and loses at different rates. there is probably a whole host of reasons why your loss wasn't off the scale like some other lucky beggers. i have lost 3 pound for 4 weeks in a row then 1 last week...i was more than miffed. but at the end of the day its better off than on :D. and like ellie-em says if you lost 3lb every week, that would be almost a stone in one month!!! cant be bad. think positive
Don't give yourself a hard time, and please please dont compare yourself to others (i did, ok still do). because we are all different. your past the hardest bit.((((squishy hugs))))
 
Oh, I'm really sorry! But any other week that would be a good loss! It could be to do with water as some people have said - especially if you were drinking varying levels of water on different days/drinking them in large quantities instead of throughout the day, then you might be suffering water retention!

Fingers crossed that next week it's more impressive :)

Its 3lbs less than you had before. Well done for not cheating.

Im only loosing 2lbs at the minute. so dont worry we all loose differently.
 
oops, next week should be alot better!
People lose at different rates so try not to compare yourself to anyone else, it is just a guide!
Stay 100% for at least another week and re-assess

?? did your sister start afresh? I mean did she come straight from another diet like you?? That may have affected the results xx
 
Bodies are funny things, but you had a 3 lb loss which is brilliant. Sure at the end of the day, you determination will get you through to your goal, which is all that matters. Congrats on your loss, and best of luck with your next week.
