Hello all,
I've just joined having stumbled upon this site - great see others in a similar boat.
I have been struggling with weight issues - or should I say eating issues all my life. The lowest I've weighed is 8.7stone (briefly!) the highest 22stone - mostly I've hung about the 16's most of my adult life. Not good.
I thought I had all of this cracked - had a great programme of exercise and healthy eating going for two years and lost 7stone but life/ stress got in the way and the old habits crepped back so regained some of this weight loss.
So I am here to address the situation as best I can. Currently 18 stone 10lbs and hoping to improve on that by following a similar programme that worked for me last time.
I live in an area that offers a rather innovative weight management programme that combines the usual diet and exercise advice with a support programme - group based - and has input from psychologists, physiotherapists, etc. It's what I could have done with years ago. I'm currently waiting for a place which will probably take a good three months, but I decided to get cracking on my own in the meantime. For me it's not losing weight that's the problem it's learning to deal with life so that I don't sabotage myself with food forever more!
I'm following the programme that the WMS recommends - deducting 600 cals from maintenance cals - which gives me 2100 a day - very generous. And then aiming to do build some activity into my day to burn a bit more.
Today - have had a healthy day and have been juicing fruits and veggies to have with my light meals - feel zingy. Also went for a 45 minute walk - feel good.
Will weigh in next Sunday.
