Advice About Clothing !

I have just emptied my wardrobe of nearly every size 16 I have, making 50 items, my wardrobe is very bare.

A Minimins member is going to have a look see if there is anything she liked, but I want to ask, I do sell a lot on ebay but 50 items will take me ages to list.

So you think I should do 2 items at a time and make outfits where possible ?

What makes you buy on ebay ???? Obviously I hope they don't go for 99p each as I basically have a wardrobe that consists of 3 pairs of work trousers, 2 work skirts, 6 cardigans, 6 vest tops and 2 dresses!!!!!!!!!

So I really need to make some pennies in order to buy new clothes.

Would appreciate any advice on how to do this with so many items !

Hi, I dont really buy on ebay...well I do but not clothes. I think you should go for the individual listings rather than try and make outfits as your idea of a nice top that goes with a certain pair of trousers might not be to others taste. And all the things that do not sell maybe try listing it as a bundle?
When listing might be worth including
Price you bought it, Where from, How long you've had it....and maybe worth mentioning you are selling due to loosing weight. Good luck, hope you make some money!!

I buy clothes on ebay and job lots I don't buy but outfits i find helpful so maybe thats the way to go

Great help girls, I think I will just have to list seperately, as you say someone might be looking for a piece to go with something else !

I was going to sell my clothes on eBay, but when it came to it, I just couldn't be bothered (I had a lot more than 50 items!). I gave the best stuff to a big friend who lost her job and her hubby in the same week (a deserving cause, I thought) and gave the rest to an assortment of charity shops. That's when I found out what fabulous stuff was in the charity shops!! Since then I've bought nearly all my new clothes in charity shops and hardly any in 'proper' shops - you will be amazed at what you can find there.

I visit them once a week and go through the rails quickly but carefully to see what new stuff they've got in - you soon get used to doing this quickly (I get through six shops in my lunch hour). Now that most of them group by size, it makes it much easier. I tend to zoom in on fabrics and good makes - and don't forget accessories like bags and belts. My best buy? A Fenn Wright & Manson summer dress for a pound - as new! It can be done - just look hard! :)

Good luck! ;)

Oh I have no problem going to charity shops, I Have in the past. Previously everything I had that was going to be chucked was given to my friend whose hubby left her with 2 small children (even my sofas etc), but she is now losing weight and no good for her haha !

I think I might sell the good stuff and then the normal stuff I will give to charity as I hope someone finds some use !

Alternatively what is left I can give to a miniminser as they go down sizes !

I have another 15 things now................seriously I have loads of hangers and no clothes !

Personally, I wouldn't list them as outfits. But then, I guess that's pretty much the same as doing a bundle. But then you might have someone who loves the trousers, hates the tops. That's what I often find anyway. I know it takes a while, but if you can list them seperately I think it would be a lot better!

I also have a ton of stuff to list. mostly size 20 and 18 with some 16 in there too. I am ashamed to admit the majority is still tagged and unworn so I have decided to list on ebay as individual items and anything that doesn't sell is going to a charity shop. I have already put the worn previously stuff to cancer research.

I tend to list the decent stuff like unworn, worn a couple of times etc and then the rest I give to charity.

I watched the Mary Quantas(?) programme about revamping a charity shop and that made me rethink the type of stuff I used to give before, now they get stuff that I'd be happy to buy!

I cleared out my wardrobe and drawers today and have listed some on ebay and given some to charity. I have listed everything individually except for a set of three cotton skirts that are all the same just different colours. I also list jeans together if they are very similar - the postage isn't that much more.

I would be more likely to buy two things that were similar rather than an outfit - unless it was like a special occasion outfit - dress and shrug etc.

I listed half my stuff this morning and will list the rest tomorrow morning - mind I only have about 20 items!

I'd go at it on a sort of multi-pronged attack, well this is what I plan to do...
1. List the good stuff on ebay and offer on bulletin board at work, etc
2. Boot fair the rest
3. of what is left, anything I'd be happy to buy goes to the charity shop
4. Give anything left to a mate that boot fairs for charity, see if any more can go
5. Freecycle anything that's left, as a bundle

I can't be bothered listing the stuff I think of as 'boot fair' quality - all that faff to sell for 99p, hardly worth it and I could get a quid at the boot fair (and keep all of it!)

Freecyle is worth a look for anything you need rid of. Feels good too.

Another suggestion that has been made about clothes is womens' refuges - the women often arrive there in the middle of the night without even a bag, and the refuges are always grateful for any clothes they can get. (The stuff I gave to my big friend, we agreed that anything that didn't fit her, she would donate to a refuge that she knew.)

I can't think of a better place for unwanted clothes to go, can you? :)

Refuge is a great idea...I love that idea.

Have given all of my stuff to charity and to womens' refuges before, but recently forgot about these, so thank you, great idea:D:D

The refuge is a good idea but I think the op wants to make money also lol. How do you get in contact with refuges, I have loads of baby stuff that would love to give to them.....?

Ohh deffo list as seperates

I click off listings that are a top AND skirt for example

Keep your pics clear and to the point wordings and please..please make sure you state the length of trousers :) :)

I think I might go to a car boot sale instead ! My sister has given me so many items (about 50 as well), and my friend does the car boots on a sunday so maybe I can make some cash ! I would love to give them all away but I only have a few things in my wardrobe - about 10 things !
