Hi ka_gush and welcome to MM.
Am sorry you are having a hard time at the mo with your health.
We have many members here on MM who have had surgery and i am sure if you post in the weight loss surgery section they will more than happy to help you.
Def the first step for weight loss surgery is to speak to your Gp and then get them to refer you.
Every pct has different criteria and different guidelines but if you look on the Bospa site they have a list of pct`s and their criteria to get funding for weight loss surgery.

Here is the link for the weight loss surgery forum here on MM and also the link for Bospa.
Surgical Weight Loss - MiniMins.com - Weight Loss Support Forum
BOSPA - The British Obesity Surgery Patient Association

If you need any help pls feel free to ask there are so many helpful and supportive members here with a wealth of experience.
Take care x

Hi KA

Just wanted to say hi!!! I dont have all the health issues you have, but I have an underactive thyroid and suffer from an eating disorder, so kinda understand your frustration to an extent. I have also had a few hormonal problems which cause weight gain too.

Try and not get too disheartened sweetie, I am sure there is something out there that will suit you right down to the ground. I am on Lipotrim, which consists of three shakes a day; choose between vanilla/strawberry or chocolate, or soup, or choose from 2 types of flapjacks; peanut or coconut.

This diet has been a lifesaver for me, and I have now lost 39lbs in 10 weeks. It is hard, but worth it. Food just doesnt figure in my life now, but that isnt forever.

Whatever you decide, whether it is surgery or some other diet, I wish you all the best...if you want to know more about Lipotrim, come along to the forum. There was an elderly man on the news/papers last week ; 69 years of age and he lost a lot of weight (cant remember, around 11stone or maybe more) for a heart operation and it was on one of the diets; either Lipotrim or LighterLife..they didnt say which.

So, there will be something out there for you as you sound as though you are at the end of your tether....hang in there, and most importantly, keep coming onto MM,,the support is next to none and you will certainly meet likeminded people.

Take care

Hi Scotsmist,
thank for your advise. Have used it before I was diagonised with hypo. worked very well but became very concern when I was unable to and was still on diet. Thats when I suspected a problem, Since then have tried even herbal life but all have been unsuccessful.
Have done weight watchers, slim world, but my problem, I take steriod prescribed after most severe Asthma attacks most of the times one month others two weeks. I am determined to get a solution.
Thanks for your advice.

welcome to minins, and good luck with your weight loss journey, as scotsmist suggested a VLCD might be something you could try, or perhaps you already have done. for me it has been great x
