I'm going to see a private dietitian next wednesday.

So excited..... just want I need!

From what she explained, it will be a 90 min appointment and she will be giving me a full on once over, skin, hair.... the whole tooty!

Now I feel that I have to be SUPA good - hopefully a few pounds lighter too.

Feeling fab at the moment..... then again - it could be the wine talking!:p:p:p

Well, that was in interesting visit to the dietitian.....

She took notes on what I ate, loved and craved..... weighed and measured around the waist only. A flabby tummy is result of insulin problems.

She went into some serious detail but what it boils down to is that I'm eating all the right stuff at the wrong times.

For example, according to her, each meal should have one starch and one protein, except for dinner time - no starch for dinner.
She also noticed that I am eating more fruit than I should - some days eating up to 12 pieces of fruit with messes up ones insulin levels apparently.

She has 4 dieting rules:
1. Protein with every meal
2. NO white flour
3. NO starch at dinner time
4. NO starch as snacks ie. no ricecakes or popcorn...:(

Everything she explained made sense ... all to do with my insulin.

This is probably a lot of gibberish to all, but I think it made enough sense to me to have the right motivation and determination.

She's not interested in my weight really and said that I should start going to the gym in a months' time when my eating pattern is in place and I'm feeling better all round.

So there you go...... that's been my day!:p

So what kind of things should you have for dinner?

When you say protein, what does this mean say in terms of breakfast?

Milk and cheese counts as a protein, so for example:
milk, cheese, yoghurt, egg, salmon.... all proteins

So for breakfast you can have a starch and a protein - oats and milk/yoghurt or poached egg on toast

Snacks MUST be protein snacks..... unsalted raw nuts preferably.
Can also be fruit

Lunch e.g. Wrap with avo, chicken, salad or stir fry with noodles

Dinner NO STARCH.... e.g veggie stirfry with only fish or chicken.

NO starch snacks at night..... rather have hot milk or low cal hot chocolate.

Worth a try.

Good luck!!
