I walked around M and S with 2 size 18 skirts today, then switched them for 16s and they both fit! whoooooo hoooooooo!

Well done - that's fantastic news! I bet you were beaming from ear to ear, i certainly would have been.

I'm only just squeezing into some size 16 bottoms now but it does feel good.
