Drs 2mrow - Going to ask about Lipotrim

Hi everyone,

I posted on here once before for some advice (thanks!).

I have my monthly weigh in tomorrow as I`m currently on Xenical but I`m not really losing much weight on it so I would like to give the Lipotrim a try.

I think Xenical is great if you have food issues as it keeps you on the straight and narrow. I actually eat quite healthily & exercise, But have a rubbish body that won`t let go of the fat that I accumulated over the yrs when I wasn`t so good lol (I also have underactive thyroid & PCOS which hinders the WL). I`m not sure it`s really worth me taking them.

I had a look on the LT website and it gives two options, GP Programme & Pharmacy Programme. Do you know if you still have to pay for it if it`s through the GP?

The Dr I`m seeing tomorrow is 1 I haven`t seen before. My usual Dr is on sick leave as she had an operation, So I`m not sure if this Dr will be helpful or understanding with WL -/

Also, Could you please recommend what shakes etc to go for/avoid - Flavours etc

I haven`t read it all completely yet, I take it you have shakes/soups? Am I wrong?

Also, Through GP referral, I joined the gym - Am I allowed to exercise with Lipotrim?

Sorry for all the questions, Wish me luck pls!

Thanks,

LiSe :) Xx

Hi Secret

Welcome! Well, lots of questions, not sure if I can answer them all, but will try.
Regaring the Dr and being a GP referral, I honestly dont know whether they would pay for it. I think what it means, is either your doctor refers you or you can go directly to the pharmacy without the need for the doctor to refer you. In some ways, paying for it, makes you even more determined to do it. If it was given out freely, maybe people wouldnt be so dedicated......but someone else might be able to help you in this matter about it being paid for.

I have an underactive thyroid and it normally takes me an age to lose anything and if you look at my ticker you can see I have been losing at good rates (esp for me). There are others that have PCOS and from memory I think they have been losing too; again, hopefully someone will come back and clarify this.

There are three flavours of shakes; vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. 1 soup which is chicken flavour and 2 flapjack bars; cocunut and peanut.

It is certainly each to their own. I dont like the vanilla, but lots of people love it and have it with a teaspoon of coffee. I usually have strawberry and choc and soup, but recently I find the strawberry too sweet...I think my palate has changed. I didnt like the flapjacks, but again, because my palate has changed I am going to try them again this week. I dont think anyone can say "have this or that"...you need to give them all a try. I love the soup, others just detest it! We are all different.

You have three shakes a day, that can be any of the shakes and soup or if you prefer you can have the flapjacks in place of the shakes. I was told I could have the flapjacks straight away, but others have been told to week between 1 and 2 weeks before having them..so, need to find that out from your pharmacist.

Exercise is a bit debatable - again...it really depends on the person but I would watch what type you do. When you think about it you are only consuming over 400 calories,,so not a lot at all and if you start to do some serious exercise you might just go into starvation mode. I did some light exercise, walk, cycle......and only now - 10 weeks on I have just hired a vibroplate to tone up.

You also need because one of the side effects can be dizziness, and I know when I bend down I can become quite dizzy, and others experience this too. It isnt uncomfortable and you learn to deal with it and do things a bit more carefully.

Well, LT is fab! It is the toughest diet I have ever done in my entire life, but I wouldnt have changed the last 10 weeks for all the gold in the world. The rewards are amazing and the weight loss is just so inspirational. You need to be totally committed and go for it 100%. You have to learn that food just doesnt figure in your life for a while.

Hope you get on ok at the doctor and you need to know that this is what you want. It isnt a quick fix; it does take a lot of control.

Hi,
there is little to add to the introduction Scotsmist gave you above except good luck, talk to your doctor, see what they say and hopefully this will be the diet that helps you. It has been the only diet I have stuck to but as Scotsmist said it is a commitment and you have to be mentally prepared for it. Wishing you all the best.

Thanks so much for the replies x

I`m a muppet and lost a day, It`s Friday I go to the drs lol

Paying isn`t a problem, It only works out about a fiver a day which I`d spend on food anyway! I just wondered what the difference was.

I don`t think the flapjacks sound a good idea at first - For me anyway. I think it might make me more hungry than just sticking to liquids I think.

I can`t stand chicken soup either, So that`s a no go lol

I CAN do this, I can go all day without eating anyway. Half of my problem in the past was that I didn`t eat enough (stupid as it sounds) and I am determined to lose this weight. If I could lose half a stone a week then I could lose all my weight in 6-8 weeks, That would be amazing!!

Re exercise, I have a xtrainer and rowing machine at home, So maybe that would be a bit too full on? Would swimming be ok? And one of those tummy fat machines that stimulates the muscles to tone my fat tum?

Thanks again for all your help,

Welcome and just to add that I have PCOS and have consistently lost well. Don't know if it has hampered my losses or not, impossible to know - but i'm very happy with LT. I'm not on any medication for PCOS (not even contraceptive pill) so must be a mild case - others with more severe cases may have more to add. I still get side effects (hair and spots) but once my weight is under control i intend to seek medical advice on those and really sort my life out ;)

best of luck with your decision.

I'd say try all the flavours - but just one of things you're not sure about, to start with :)

Hi Sacred
I think swimming would be ideal...

I reckon you could do this and 6-8 weeks is nothing when you think about it - eh!

Good luck at the docs tomorrow.
