Hi All,

I am on my third week on lipotrim and feel i have got into the swing of things now. Have fell off wagon twice but determined to keep going now for another 3 weeks.
After that im not sure to do i am wondering can i combine my sachets with normal food long term. I am just a bit worried about when i go back to "normal diet".
Would greatly appreciate any suggestions. I have lost 10kg already and want to lose another 10 before i end this pahse.

Hi Digger
Welcome and you have done well to get to Wk 3. So, you have lost 10k (22lbs) so almost at the 2 stone mark! Well done.....

What is your goal?

Well, I am no expert as I am about to re-feed in a few weeks time. But, once you decide you want to finish the diet, you MUST re-feed properly. Speak to your pharmacist and they should give you a re-feed sheet. There are a few threads on here which give really useful tips/info as well regarding re-feed and look at other re-feed diaries to see what they are eating, etc.

I think once you have finished your re-feeding, definitely for one week, but can carry this on for as many weeks as you like. And then you can also use the normal LT formula shakes, or the maintenance formulas which I understand are a bit nicer and got more soluable fibre in them too.

The weight wont be as rapid, but you will be still in control and if you feel after the re-feed, maintenance that you want to lose much more, then I think you should be able to go back on LT, depends what your pharmacist thinks though.

Personally, I dont see any problem in having a shake a day, plus 2 meals, but again, I am not sure of protocol at pharmacies and whether they dont like this. I am just not clued up on this enough to give a true and accurate answer.

i am sure others will be able to help though.

Hope this goes a way to helping you decide what to do, but please read the thread about re-feeding..dont undo all the great work you have done in the 3 weeks.

Thanks for the advice

I just dont see myself doing the diet longterm. I am taking it week by week as it is very difficult diet to follow but hope to stay on for another 5 weeks (starting new job then). Im just worried that if i go back fully to normal food i will put weight back on. I have become a dad recently and really wan to e fit and healthy for my daughter for years to come.

Hi Digger

You are like I was......when I first started I just though, oh my word!! I cant do this....and I said to the pharmacist I am just doing it week by week! Now, I am not particularly looking forward to re-feeding as I want to just get to goal and I enjoy the diet now. Your frame of mind just seems to change.

But, yes, I agree, take it week by week. Just dont go and blow it or you will put on all the weight you have lost and just think how hard it has been. If you re-feed min 1 week and then eat sensibly thereafter you should put the weight back on again, but it is all about control.

The one good thing about this diet is that it retrains your palate and the longer you are on the diet, I suppose the better it is and then when you start to eat again you crave differnt foods...well, that is the theory and I am sticking with that :)

Another 5 weeks will no doubt take you to over the 3 stone mark, and then dieting sensibly is achievable I think. Dont worry yourself too much and to be honest, no one wants to be on LT longterm; dont think that would be healthy anyway.

Congrats on your new job and your new daughter by the way!

Good incentives to keep going!!!!

Hi there - sounds like you've done great so far with Lipotrim which is great to hear.

As Sctosmist says, you absolutely must refeed properly when you decide you have got to your goal.

I see LT as a way of breaking food habits, and almost retraining your brain a bit. So when you say going back to 'normal' food, you just prob need to think what that normal food is - LT isn't a quick fix to lose loads of weight and go back to eating the same stuff we used to or then we really would regain what we've lost!

I'm sure you are on th4 case and know all this already, but just take each week and each weigh in at a time. when you have lost all you want then talk to your pharmacist who can advise on refeeding :)

Keep enjoying thwe weight loss til then!

Hi Digger,
congrats on the weight loss to date and on the new job and last but not least your new daughter. Our children have a way of making us look at life differently and reassess our priorities. I wish you all the best on your journey and know that you can do it, you just need to believe in yourself and you will be fine. Best of luck.
