Any fishermen or women here?

Hi all,

Well I was just wondering does anyone love the sport as much as I do? I got into fishing a few years ago when it was a team building weekend that the boss had organized and thought we all would like. Now being a woman I thought OMG this is going to be the most boring weekend ever but decided to go along for the fun of it as I didnt want to let the girls down being there were only two of us the rest being male. So 9 versus 2. Anyways once I got into it, I thought yea this ain't actually that bad although, I even got past the maggots and worms bit (im not a creep crawly person at all) and really got into it. On the last day there was a competition between the ladies and men. Now in all fairness we were a bit out-numbered and I didn't like keeping the fish in keepnets but was going to give it my best shot. After one hour still catching nothing I eventually changed to a spinner and straightaway got a small tug on my line so began to reel it in. There was no fight whatsoever, towards the end it did feel a bit heavy on the ole arms but hey once I saw the size of it that was enough for me, 22lbs pike (maybe the dumbiest fish in the world ), I was delighted and the buzz of that one has kept me going.

Anytime that I have off is normally taken up with trips out fishing. Most of my friends call me weird for liking a mans sport but its absolutely fab!! I would rather do that than shop for clothes any day.

After seeing an episode of "Jungle Hooks" one day, my dream is to fish on "Lake Nasser". I hope to do this next year.

So hopefully someone shares my interests here, maybe we could share some tips or even know of good places to fish or tell me your experiences would love to hear them all?

Heya, you're looking at a fisherman's daughter :D :D Don't get to do it as often as I like, but I find the first trip out in the boat with my Dad and rod is the most de-stressing time of the year! I leave the OH at home. Fish are so peaceful, they don't answer back^^

Hey chick,

Nice to see another woman enjoying it as much as I do and yes it is a good way of de-stressing. Although at times I wish I could leave the OH at home too...lol but it was me that got him into it......aww well. Gosh I thought nobody was going to answer this but I am glad to be proven wrong...
