Need a new suit...

I guess I should be pleased...

I work from home mostly so don't wear my suits much. But I put one of my usual ones on today to test it, since I hadn't worn it before the diet, and it's like a tent!

Which is great, because it shows I've lost a good amount.

But, apart from my sports jacket and trousers I'm stuck. I've got a couple of old suits in the wardrobe but they're pretty nackered.

I guess I could make do with my jacket and trousers for now since I don't need them very often, they fit pretty well right now.

Hi Lunar Jim

It's brilliant to lose weight but the downside is having no clothes that fit!
If you need a suit to tide you over, Asda are really reasonable - save the Saville Row til you get to goal weight!
Congratulations though!! x

:D that's great ! even if you have to shell out for a new suit !

well done you.....

Tesco have a good range in at the moment too. Full 3 piece suit for 49 quid.

That's great Jim!
Why not give Matalan a try. I know they used to do a range of washable suits that looked very good on. My DH had one, and it did wash very well!

Second vote for Matalan suit for a much-cheapness interim solution; they do wash really well!

The ASDA suit is great! My DH is a bit of a clothes snob and used to only wear Gieves & Hawkes or Aquascutum suits but as we are a bit broke at the moment and he needed a new suit after putting weight on he went to ASDA and picked up one of their cheapie ones. It wasn't the cheapest one and probably cost around £40 but it's not bad for a work suit. Certainly doesn't look like it cost £40!!

I have the same problem as I'm in the office 4 days a week and my suits are all too big. I have a skirt that fits but I can hardly wear that every day. My tops are all too big as well and whereas I enjoy buying weekend clothes - work clothes are just a chore and money spent that I don't really have!

Still - it's great isn't it! I can put my old pair of suit trousers on without undoing the button and if I let go of them and walk around for a few steps they fall down:rotflmao:

Was just about to suggest Tesco too. another alternative is charity / second hand shops. You can pick up some fab stuff for next to nothing there, and it's only to tide you over til you get to goal!
Go you! Your weight loss has been FAB!!!

Thanks Purdey :D

WI today, I bet it won't be as much this week... It's at 2pm instead of the usual 10am so that won't help, and I had a couple of bad water days too...

Heh, I know what you mean, my shorts flew off while doing the hula-hoop on Wii Fit the other day lol

The jeans I'm wearing are HUGE; I've made four new holes in my belt since I started, and I'm going to have to make another as they're falling down again...

Now then Jim,

I am in exactly the same position as you and my suits are falling off me, my belts dont fit and most of my clothes are now hanging off me.

The advantage to this of course is that all the old stuff that didnt fit, now fits perfectly so that takes care of that until I get to goal weight.

As far as new suits are concerned I decided to buy myself a nice target suit to keep me motivated and that nearly fits already. As far as the old suits go they are probably likely to go into storage (just in case) I am not brave enough to get rid of them just yet, but will probably look to sell them on ebay when I get to goal.

What measurements are you looking for???

right now!

I might have something that doesnt fit me that might do you until you get to goal??

Thanks for the offer!

52" chest. I have a jacket and trousers which will probably do me TBH, it's the one I wore for my son's christening, and since I'm not going into the office much at the moment I reckon I could make do with that for a little while.

The one I'm lost in is a 56". It's a shame because it's a nice suit; I'd put it on eBay but it's a bit shiny on the elbows so I don't think it's be worth it...

The suits I have are chest 48 so that might come in handy as you get smaller.

If you are looking for a bargain to tide you over what about ebay. You can get some good stuff on there

Also about to suggest Ebay

Also have a look at Littlewoods the catalogue - sometimes suits on sale in there and its not too bad.
