Need advice for tomorrow

Im sick of SW diet, so me and partner have decided to try SF again, last time I was on SF I lost 3 stone, but slipped up and threw weight on at an alarming rate.

Anyways I have some questions. Bearing in mind I am coming from SW diet, so bear with me lol.

1) Is Volvic sugar free flavored water, or any sugar free flavored water allowed? or do we need to work out the calories? if so is straight up plain water best for this diet?

2) Can I still drink Pepsi Max, and Diet Coke, as I think there not many calories in those? if no, then what are you guys drinking mostly?

3) Last time I was on SF I had 2 shakes, 1 morning and 1 dinnertime, then a big meal at the evening, sometimes I went hungry though, what is advised to eat during the day, in otherwords, what kind of free foods can we have?

4) Once target is reached, how do we come off the diet? I would imagine coming off SF would be very hard indeed? and any wrong doing would help you gain weight very fast.

5) Finally, whats the calorie for a male that I should be having in a day? Im guessing the tin will remind me tomorrow, but just asking incase lol.

Thanks in advance.

Hiya welcome back to SF, hope you get on well with it. Right I'll try and help:

1) Is Volvic sugar free flavored water, or any sugar free flavored water allowed? or do we need to work out the calories? if so is straight up plain water best for this diet? Not sure of the calorie content in this, I just drink plain water, but no reason it wouldn't be allowed if you count the cals into your snack ones.

2) Can I still drink Pepsi Max, and Diet Coke, as I think there not many calories in those? if no, then what are you guys drinking mostly? Yes you can, I have diet coke used to have one can most days, but trying to cut it out as I'm on a health kick lol ;)

3) Last time I was on SF I had 2 shakes, 1 morning and 1 dinnertime, then a big meal at the evening, sometimes I went hungry though, what is advised to eat during the day, in otherwords, what kind of free foods can we have? Yep 2 shakes (Breakfast and lunch, or some people eat lunch and have the other shake in the evening) and upto 600cals for an evening meal. then you are also allowed 3 snacks upto 100cals each. Advisable to have these as keeps your metabolism up and stops hunger pangs. You can have anything upto 100cals, although of course low fat healthy snacks would be best. I generally have fruit, cereal bars, crackers with extra low fat cheese spread or a ham/chicken slice, muller light yoghurt, even walkers baked (or other low fat crisps) if I feel like it. loads you can have, get scouting the supermarket healthy choice low fat food ranges! I've just discovered the new weetabix 'Oaty bars' the white choc ones only have 67 cals and are gorgeous.

4) Once target is reached, how do we come off the diet? I would imagine coming off SF would be very hard indeed? and any wrong doing would help you gain weight very fast. Never been there, but I think most people go onto maintenance slowly, by just dropping one shake at first and replacing it by a meal of similar calorie content. I've intending to go onto calorie counting when I'm near my goal to get me into eating healthy, a lifestyle change is needed to avoid going back to old bad habits.

5) Finally, whats the calorie for a male that I should be having in a day? Im guessing the tin will remind me tomorrow, but just asking incase lol. Not sure here, don't think it says any difference for a male. the slimfast plan is 1340 a day, but thinking about it a man would surely need more than a woman? Maybe somebody else knows the answer to this, or do slimfast ahve an advice line you could ring?

Hope that helps x

Hi Nightwolf, I am near my goal and in answer to one of your questions, I don't use SF too much any more but I do have a meal bar for breakfast if I am in a rush and I have one at lunch times if I know i am not going to be having a planned lunch. I use SW ideas and calorie count mainly now. I have all fruit and veg as free food and don't count the calories in it and then I remember not to mix carbs and protien too much in a meal.

I am still loosing weight, all be it slowly but I am not in a rush any more so I'm ok with that. I didn't do any dieting for about 8 weeks, just maintained and exercised and I didn't put any weight back on.

I think it may just be a case of keeping a regular eye on your weight once you reach your goal.
